My current bike squeeze is the Speed Triple. If only...

The current Speed Triple, I don't think there is a sexier bike around today...

Alas I still still feel as though I know where I'll get started...

Sorry to hear of your injury. Mine in comparison was minor - it was L1 - it was a moderate crush fracture - tbh it was only picked up 2 weeks after the accident, diagnosis before that was muscle strain, but when it didn't recover I convinced them to Xray.

Get well soon!
Cheers! Yikes... I certainly knew about mine! Good to hear it wasn't too bad. Glad you're on the mend.

If you like the Speed, why not start with a Street Triple?

I do like the Street Triple but unfortunately they seem comparatively expensive compared to the Speed. Were prices comparable I'd probably make the leap and start with one. However, I love the curvy SV650S too, and everyone suggests they're a great place to start. They make a great noise, and should help me work on cornering. I'm sure it'll seem more than fast enough for a good while!

As for the Speed Triple, I was mentioning to a manager at work that I really liked them. He said I should get one as my first big bike! He's a keen biker and was saying the older Speed Triples are fast, but not as fast as you'd expect and very linear compared to the furious top end rush of similar four cylinders. Still a bit much for me I suspect. Whenever I get a Speed or a Street Triple, it'll have to have one of those little fly screens for weather protection!

Overanalysing again. Why do all newbies do this and the "it'll help me learn to corner stuff". The thing that'll help you learn to corner is looking where you want to go. Simple as that.

The guys just trying to get a nice bike. Stop your "I cause an argument in a empty room" approach wink

And dont go oh well it's true and like a woman I need to have the last word routine.

We all know he should get a street as the speed isn't a patch on it.
