That looks great fun, tell me more like was it an organised ride or just a crowd of you who knew where you were going? We do these runs pretty regular but Gatesgarth is by permit only and only at certain times of the year. That said it was less than 5 miles out of our 100 mile day so still totally worthwhile organising a day out even if you can't organise a permit.
Runs like this happen all over the country every weekend. They're all about who you know as people lead other people round and share routes. You can also share map files that you load onto GPS's and follow the arrow around but that's not nearly as fun.
I've been a road rider for over 20 years but only got into enduro a year ago. I'd still consider myself a total noob but it's tremendous fun and crashes, whilst often, are opportunities for leg pulling not day ruining disasters.
Here's a taster, as always it's more fun/difficult in real life.

Had a great hour or so on the Gamma, was really flying along and then.........she seized big time..
Going to be messy in there, the kickstart is solid..
Ouch Going to be messy in there, the kickstart is solid..
Any clues? Was she running hot?? Oil feed ok from the tank??
If she's solid, she might have dropped s skirt and the piston is jammed. Hopefully the barrels will be salvageable. Maybe it's time for a cheeky 410 conversion??
Depending on the barrels, a big bore conversion is on the agenda...not anytime soon thou, its parked in the sin bin for now..If the cranks gone as well, it'll be sitting til Winter..
Still, not all bad, the suns out, LC is running sweet and the GSXR is there to be used.
Thanks to all that commented for the sympathy/support!

I didn't take pictures when up around Perthshire on Monday. So you'll all just have to imagine a 1999 CBR 600 F, in all it's glory, at an aggressive stance with a picture taken near a loch. Or river. Or Kelly Brook whatever takes your fancy.
That's it's first run since I replaced the stator, a lot of melted wires, the regulator, and the battery. Another big shout out to Ian Murray motorcycles of Edinburgh who failed to spot any of this despite invoicing me for them checking the charging system which meant me pissing around with air hoses and fueling for bd hours as I was barking up the wrong tree.
That aside after a full service, and the throttle sleeve I fitted from an R6 it runs a hell of a lot better than it did last year. Anyone who owns a CBR600FX-Y needs to change the sleeve so you don't need to re-grip on wide open throttle, it's much better.

Good ride out Monday with a few mates. It's really strange riding both r1s back to back. When I'm following his mine feels quite a bit faster and I have to roll off on the straights quite a bit but when I ride his the top end rush feels like it's going to pull my head off much more than mine. The feeling of speed on the older older generation is definitely more intense. The throttle does feel like it's turning through porridge compared to the newer model though.

I'm only after the rear hugger. What did you have fitted to yours? Not sure if I want the chain guard carbon aswell.

I love good quality carbon and TYGA stuff is superb... really nice. I'm trying to resist covering the Fireblade in the stuff... looking at Gav's shop on eBay is not helping!!!
