FA cup semi final meant 1198 fun on quiet roads smile

Great shot - the natural environment for those !
Where and how did you mount the camera for that take ?
Cheers.
I don't have a pic of the mount as I've pulled it all off now. Essentially a Ghost Drift S mounted very low on the belly pan, with a sticky pad mount. Unfortunately Ducati V-twin vibes ruined the footage as it seems the fairing flexes there at certain revs, but pulled off some decent stills from the 1080p video.

...should be part of the Green Party's manifesto, all 1198s should be on the back wheel for at least the first 3 gears...Nice pic Pete.
1st and 2nd are a bit pointless on the 1198 with 14T sprocket, if trying to accelerate quickly. It just pops up instantly at low revs like my old KTM 525exc. 3rd gear is the first gear that you can control the wheelie properly, but with a tug it even pops up in 4th!

Blade is much more controllable once up though and after about 4 weeks and lots of miles on the Blade, the 1198 really did feel hard work and difficult to crack on with at a high pace. It's a good event, but the Blade is just so much quicker point to point.

Thx Pete.

Marty, it's not mine, was a labour of love for someone who bought her a while ago and wanted her bringint back up to standard. It had been silver/black with the purple and pink graphics and had all the usual signs of tiredness for the age and model, but was a very straight bike underneath.

I've styled it similarly to my rrn blade, i think with older bikes like these you're better off refreshing them and making them a clean, sharp version of themselves than trying to make them look like a modern bike.

Tony Foale quantum with a Suzuki 1230

Pushed out about 120'ish, but a bit weird watching it go up and down when it was dyno'd, a bit like a fairground ride.

Camera mount location....
bottom of the fairing is too flimsy. You need it at the top, with something solid behind....

Drift is a good camera. I like putting my GoPro on me chin but other than that, the Drift shape is much better every where else!

Agree 100%, much better refreshing it and sharpening the look up a bit than trying to make it something it's not.

And what you where sayin about it being too tidy now, I bought a bandit years ago as a commuter/winter bike from my neighbours friend that was eight years old but looked like it had just rolled out the factory. I was over the moon with until I got it home and realised i was going to get too precious with it and wished I had bought a munter!

Was the kettle not a triple? Only see two pipes. Real possibility I'm talking out my arse though as I'm only young and don't remember them!

As said, it was the kettle engine

Lovely looking thing and looked well pampered

I was hoping he was going to stick it on the dyno
