Beautiful, you forget what's on your doorstep sometimes. I went a blast down the rest and be thankful to Inveraray on Saturday, absolutely stunning day with stunning roads and scenery. Heard the roads around/to Moffat are excellent, and recommendations?

The A708 road from Moffat to St Mary's, I'm pleased to say, had had some major resurfacing work, so it's that bit better. The A701 from Edinburgh to Moffat is a great road, with fast sweepers, and is mostly empty these days. That being said, I only go out on week days, and so avoid any bike groups, caravans, motorhomes and cops.Heard the roads around/to Moffat are excellent, and recommendations?
Ít's a good loop, starting at Dalkieth, get on to the A710 all the way to Moffat, then the A708 to the Gordon Arms just past St Mary's Loch, then turn left on to the B709 over the hills to Innerliethen (watch out for sheep after the cattle grid, and it's mostly single track). Turn right in Innerliethen and down the main street (A72) for about 400m, then left and back on to the B709 to join the A7 just south of Middleton, about 15 miles later, and back to Dalkieth. About 120 miles all told.

Not wishing to be a pedant, but you mean A701 Ít's a good loop, starting at Dalkieth, get on to the A710 all the way to Moffat, then the A708 to the Gordon Arms just past St Mary's Loch, then turn left on to the B709 over the hills to Innerliethen (watch out for sheep after the cattle grid, and it's mostly single track). Just watch out for for the sheep this time of year. Lambs can be thick as well... Mince.

Do I take this turn off the sat nav is telling me to turn off do I go that way. No that will take us along the A636 or whatever its called.
Eh prolapse, I don't remember this being a 3 lane motorway it was a dual carriageway and a single lane. Your right MTB nor do I.
35 miles after a contraflow and I pipe up, A1 south, your fking kidding, were the fk are we going, eh leeds you reply
an hour and twenty minutes round trip for nothing.
to say I was livid at the time was an understatement. Yes I'm partially to blame I listened to a guy who only studied at Newcastle Uni so I assumed he knew the A1.
Prolapse will blame me, but ill leave it to the public to decide.
He also had the Sat Nav.
I just said we had to stay on the A1 as it would try and take us via the A68 as it's the default route and a bad road for a bike trailer. I had no idea we were heading south.
Also I have never studied at Newcastle University. Like the woods our "pod" was in, that is also purely a product of his warped mind.
But in any instance as the only responsible adult in the car I take full responsibility.

We never fell out officially, it was like when your mrs snaps at you, and you both know to leave it so not to turn it into a full blown fight. I became incredibly grumpy. I was stressing out to the max because I had two interviews the next day, tired, starving and the day just keep getting worse. I have to admit, I was not a pleasant chappy, I am never like that, I am when im hungry I do turn into a right diva.
That said, when you flung my lid on the floor I wanted to kill you, or when you went out for your session and I loaded up, then we set off and you cracked a beer open and I looked at you like, wtf are you doing, I guess im driving all the way, and you replied, "im only going to have a few" I didn't know what the fk to say. We struggled to load and dismantle the two bikes before, god knows what it would have been like with a tipsy co-pilot, in the dark and after a full track day at the fking graveyard as you so suggested.
I'm guessing I probably done annoying things. SO im not blameless.
But I always wondered when watching Top Gear road trips if they actually got annoyed with others about things like this.
the good thing is I can look back and laugh.

You two need to ditch your birds and have a gay bumming session. You suit each other.
Did you not read where they spent the night in the love pod together? Also MTB is definitely to blame. Driver is meant to drive you to the right destination. If I got in a taci and I told him where I wanted to go and he went the opposite way I'd be livid.
