A picture a day....biker banter (Vol 3)
Discussion
People who haven't done a trackday that isn't an hour down the road don't know how stressful it can be.
st sleep, hours driving, getting lost, Knackered, hiccups
Fling in two interviews the next morning first thing, getting home well past midnight 6 or 7 hours driving, low blood sugar from not eating in hours.
Prolapse had a great time
It wasn't that bad but everything was a wee drama that day with me.

If he's really annoying you (prolapse), ask him how many times he was lapped... st sleep, hours driving, getting lost, Knackered, hiccups

He had a good time I'm glad he enjoyed it
But we both realised it's no use both going in a skoda that was bottoming out and need to change and unload a trailer which sounds a 5 minute job it's just not.

What's the reasoning behind your username, MTB? I'm just wondering if the 'moan' part is apt coincidence or deliberate.
Moanthebairns is I would suspect a support chant, as in Come on you Bairns which is as we all know the nickname for Falkirk FC.HTH
Allan
I'm soon to call my company mtb design so I'll have some cool stickers for the track bike on expenses of course

Oi it was the failed doctor telling me my blood sugar was low that's why I was stressing
I notice none of you. Have tried a trackday like this. It's not a holiday
After being awake twenty hours
A trackday
7 hours on the road instead of 3
And no tea
All the driving
I was pretty calm
I drove to Oulton and slept in the van. I say slept, it was the worst attempt at sleeping I've ever experienced. I don't want to do it again. I notice none of you. Have tried a trackday like this. It's not a holiday

It's only you that makes it that hard for yourself. No one else has these problems because they plan properly and don't try to do too much at once.I notice none of you. Have tried a trackday like this. It's not a holiday

Give me that over a tent or the back of a van any day of the week

The A708 road from Moffat to St Mary's, I'm pleased to say, had had some major resurfacing work, so it's that bit better. The A701 from Edinburgh to Moffat is a great road, with fast sweepers, and is mostly empty these days. That being said, I only go out on week days, and so avoid any bike groups, caravans, motorhomes and cops.
Ít's a good loop, starting at Dalkieth, get on to the A710 all the way to Moffat, then the A708 to the Gordon Arms just past St Mary's Loch, then turn left on to the B709 over the hills to Innerliethen (watch out for sheep after the cattle grid, and it's mostly single track). Turn right in Innerliethen and down the main street (A72) for about 400m, then left and back on to the B709 to join the A7 just south of Middleton, about 15 miles later, and back to Dalkieth. About 120 miles all told.
Not wishing to be a pedant, but you mean A701 Ít's a good loop, starting at Dalkieth, get on to the A710 all the way to Moffat, then the A708 to the Gordon Arms just past St Mary's Loch, then turn left on to the B709 over the hills to Innerliethen (watch out for sheep after the cattle grid, and it's mostly single track). Just watch out for for the sheep this time of year. Lambs can be thick as well... Mince.
Didn't you fall off the A701 last year?

It's ok for you an hour away from every track. When you start doing it you'll make the same mistakes or new ones.
Everyone I've spoken to starts out the same. Learns the hard way due to lack of funds, experience etc.
