Are those Metzeler M7RR's that you've got?
Yep... have run them for 5,000 miles so far. I prefer them over the pilot power 3's ... they don't last like the pilot power 3's but it just means I'm buying front and rears individually now rather as pairs so no biggie.

About 4-5k from rear, 7-8k from the front... the pilot power 3's did 8k the pair.
I'll be honest, longevity isn't really an issue, I do probably around 3K miles/year between two bikes, just curious if their grippy nature is all I've read it to be.

That is immaculate, how do you keep it so clean? Am I correct in assuming you use the bike daily to commute on?

Talking of 2 strokes, during our little trip to the ring I found myself parked beside this little beauty. And before he says it says it no Allan, I don't mean you biggrin

Then buy Pirelli Supercorsas smile

I average 10-12k per year so having a good sports tyre that has enough grip for fast road work and track AND lasts sensible mileage is what I want from a tyre. With my mileage I should be using sports touring tyres but they just don't give me the confidence.

Thank you.

That's right, it is used daily most of the year... but I won't ride in salt unless I have time to wash it as soon as I get home. It does mean it gets washed several times a week in winter... but mainly snow foam / power rinse to keep the crap off and LOTS of ACF50.

Keeping it clean isn't hard once it's had a 'proper' clean and by that I mean fairings off, engine cleaned, etc... once that's done it is a good wash every week to keep it that way. Every spring it gets stripped and cleaned properly... done that the same way with all my bikes for years.

Any bolts that start furring up get replaced straight away with Titanium ... and the standard stuff cleaned, polished and put away for sale time...

Some people hate cleaning bikes, but I enjoy it - which is what makes it so easy... I'm not frightened of using it though. I average 1,000 miles a month on it.

It was a well used example with a fair bit of furry surface corrosion and paint rubbed through etc. All of which demonstrated that it had been used not stored. From memory it had something like 80000km on it [50,000 miles] More power to the owner for using it.

"My little beauty" was not what you called me that evening Andy [lol]

Friday 24th my Aprilia Tuono V4R was still shiny bright and new looking after her first service the week before. This photo of her is from a Belgian motorway after an 1100 mile jaunt to The Ring through some of the most severe weather I have ever seen, or not seen on the return leg as the fog was bad up until about 50km from Aachen.

Photo courtesy of Spareparts with a wide angle lens. Well I think that's what is distorting the image and making me look fat/huge

Looking ace! Rear shock is fabulous on the 2012 on models, so good mod.

BTW - I think they specify 10W 30 on these Blades?

Thank you sir smile

Aye I know hence changed it as the OE shock on the 08-11 damping wise isn't plush at all.

Yes, they do but 10w 40 is also fine. Provides a bit more protection at higher temperatures. smile

No, because I sit in traffic in summer with the bike idling at 100deg + ... We don't all live in the middle of nowhere - some of us live in civilization ... Now sod off tongue out
