As I said BOTH are absolutely fine ... wink

Was just checking if an informed choice or accidental. Main thing - fully synth thumbup
Semi synthetic in mine.

Lol ... I'm not even sure they do Motul 300v in 10w 30?

Either way it's not a problem and the extra protection of a 40 is not a bad thing to have at all. Even the supplying dealer stuck Putoline Syn4 10w 40 in it... smile

Given the degradation of the grade over it's lifetime, 10W 40 fully synth will be going in mine once I start servicing it myself.

I dunno Steve, I have heard that some change them quite regular, like every 3 months or so.

This reared its head as false neutrals in 3rd and 4th gear.

Interesting.. A couple of mates who race ZX10's here say that their gearboxes become a bit flaky after a few thousand race kms. False neutrals between 3rd and 4th!
Seems the ZX has a weakness then.......

A QS with a reputation of destroying gearboxs is fitted to this bike.

I don't want to name them as the walls have ears and I will get into trouble.

I have a Trans-logic QS for my Honda.

Would it rhyme with 'Rhino Pet'??
And FWIW, the series prohibits Q Shifters so the guys make very aggressive changes on the standard box. Maybe there's a clue here..

Are there any quick shifters that offer a programmable retard ramp as well as a cut or cut and retard feature??`
The Nemesis TCS has a QS function that you can change the retard ramp profiles so the power is reapplied in a gradual manner.
It's kept my Duc gearbox in stunning condition although the selector drum has just been updated due to losing the 2nd to 3rd guide peak, as they do...
