2 Stroke night at Allseaons...some real rarities turned up last night..
we're aiming to get the Scott back in the road again this year. It's a great thing but the kickstart arrangement (which is via a bicycle style chain!) is so fragile and with the two speed gearbox (again, made up of chains!) if that goes you can't run the engine. Had it break a couple of times last time it was on the road and it just got to be a pain!I don't actually know mate. I didn't go last year, but we said toniht we'll go this year for a look around. Not even sure if any of our bikes are doing it, but if they are and you're there you're welcome to have a go on them!

I've been told the same George but I am Yamaha through and through, I like the idea of another 30bhp over my old R1 and better handling/electronics.
I'm sure it won't be a bad bike by any means, plus I've been told the handling is fantastic. Just might not solve all your straight line problems! I agree with you that ZX10s are too common. Have the option to buy a really high spec one whenever I fancy moving up to a 1000, but I'm really drawn to an S1000RR instead.

I'd rather have the BMW George. After riding a few of them on track I think they're really good (same as the ZX10)I agree with you that ZX10s are too common. Have the option to buy a really high spec one whenever I fancy moving up to a 1000, but I'm really drawn to an S1000RR instead.
All of them are capable and I doubt I could get within 60% of their performance.
ZX10's are stonking bikes but when I work on them and look at them they just leave me cold, I can't explain why I don't like them, I don't have a logical argument.
I'll just say that they are like dog st, they're on every street corner. (because they're great bikes)
If I could trust Aprilia I would have a RSV4 over anything.

I'm edging towards a BMW but I'm in no rush to jump on to a 1000. I love 600s, I think I'll keep the Triumph even if I do get a BMW. The bang for your buck on the ZX10 is hard to beat though, can understand why they are everywhere. All of them are capable and I doubt I could get within 60% of their performance.

My mate has had an RSV4 for 4 years as a track bike and never had any issues with it. I think as long as you keep on top of maintenance with them they aren't as bad as people make out.

Mate had one who's a mechanic and kept on top of maintaince but it still blew, electronics are dodgy too and they don't crash well,My mate has had an RSV4 for 4 years as a track bike and never had any issues with it. Mein Gott you sound happy with that Honda!!Just wander down to your local Yamaha dealer, I'm sure you know where they are and they know you. From an outside point of view it's almost painful viewing! You've only got 5 to 7 years left on sports bikes = get a new R1.
Christ, it's easy & good fun spending other people's money! In the real world I've got an ancient heap and was last seen routing thru an old Clover pot full of all my dead brake pads to cure the current scraping noise!

My mate does own an Aprilia dealership so that may be why it is so well looked after. If you find the Fireblade small I think you would struggle on the V4 too, I find it too cramped when I just sat on it.

Sorry to burst the bubble - but this is how it is.

I rode the Factory One when they first came out in 2009 and it fitted me like a glove. If you find the Fireblade small I think you would struggle on the V4 too, I find it too cramped when I just sat on it.
I have never ridden a more hateful bike than this Fireblade.
Lesson learned though.

it was actually called iron brew until the 1940's, it was invented in Falkirk (about 2 miles from my house) as a solution to quenching the thirst of the local carron workers. In the foundry, that was incredibly dusty and horrible at the time, come lunch many workers would go to the pub and drink with the thirst it created. The drink was invented to stop the workers going on the piss. Or so the tale goes.
I love Iron Bru.Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
