I'm not even Scottish (well maybe a teeny weeny bit) but there's loads of meat left in them

My new steed. Might change the exhaust for an under seat affair though depending on how I get on with it
Bit of a Marmite bike but I quite like it
R1 with a single sided s/a?? Looks a bitsa, but even mongrels are loved

Catso's relay tip seems to be doing the trick rather nicely so whopping great props to that PHer.

Menana, they were glazed to fk too. Became very noticeable at Cadwell, put sintered ones in now and changed the fluid as that was a bit cloudy too.

Haha! Ok ok. Is that the front of the pad - seriously?!

What do I do about the glazing, sand it off and carry on? That seems a bit to me!

This was the brake fluid.

It's a Metmachex 916 swing arm specifically built for the R1 (they do kits basically). The rationale of whoever put it together is unknown. The race seat for example..

It's only done 15k (2001 bike) and as far as I know was done as a project rather than smashed to bits and rebuilt.

The bits I don't like are the rim tape, anodised wheel nut (that's now off the bike) and the daft exhaust. I appreciate a totally standard one with 15k on the clock would be worth a few quid but there we go

Metmachex stuff is top notch, to be fair it does look quite well done.

Rub off the glazing on a flat concrete floor. Keep an even pressure and describe figure of 8's until the shiny-ness is gone.

Flush it. I had similar looking brake fluid. I thought it was just the red grease from the rebuild but mckeann pointed out it was the heat.

I didn't think it would be like that after doing it 7 trackdays ago.

I thought it might be the pads which were down to the 2mm replacement level.

Turns out a fluid flush made the world of difference

I'd have stuck them in for the first session.

Time you have your sighting laps and a few at pace they would be scrubbed in.

Just don't make the mistake I did. Come in put warmers on the change pads.

Nearly burnt my hand to fk touching the discs. They don't cool down in seconds.
