Elka. And I'm only 11 st ish
66kg is too light IMHO.
I said earlier

I hadn't heard of them to be honest. But the shock appears to be worth a fair few hundred.

Elka are a decent brand, well they are for mountain bikes anyway.

I think they're a Canadian based company, you may have a bit more difficulty getting replacement parts than for the more familiar brands

If it's going on your mountain bike it will be decent.

What does this mean mtb?

Spring rate is set perfect for fast track day group rider at 10.5st (kit not included)

At a guess it will mean that the spring is too soft, so it will sag too much and then you will need to wind up the preload to get the sag as close as possible. Then you will possible have the situation where you are now displaying symptoms similar to oversprung and underdamped. Think Kawasaki ZXR750............

Or you have too much sag and to get any control you have too much compression damping trying to prop the bike up.

Or you have neither the sag nor the compression damping and the bike sits arse low.

Why because at 11st nekkit plus leathers, boots and helmet etc you are now 12.5st and 20% above the design range for the spring.

I know and I don't know. I haven't paid for it yet due to leaving my wallet at work.

I have the feeling I might need to say sorry and take the bad feedback on ebay

If it's not a bad shock then just buy it and put the right fking spring on. 185 isn't dear if it's decent kit

The kit not included is the one to change the spring load by the looks of it.

You can't get them in UK.

Nor get any parts easy. Cock.

Elka is the brand.. apologies, missed that one.
The point is that while the shock may be good, if it uses a non standard spring size(dimensions), you might have a headache getting the right spring for your weight(inc gear.)
And for reference, please refer to your weight in kilos. It's what springs are measured in, not stone!
But if you are 12 stone in your skivvies, that's 76 kilos. Now add your kit and the weight of the bike and a 66 kilo spring isn't going to work. And adding more preload isn't going to fix it as preload does NOT change spring rate.
I would say you'll be needing an 85nm spring to begin with. However, if you can , get the revised shock linkage as the Triumph suspension is ridiculously progressive. i.e. it goes from shyte soft to rock hard in a very small amount of stroke. The linkage makes it more progressive and transforms the rear suspension. If you can get the plates made at a CNC shop I can give you the dimensions of the plate from my bike. If you don't, you're still pissing in the wind with the rear suspension no matter what shock you fit.

Big Al.
