Also - have you been to military road?
Military race track.... gutted I can't come. I think getting a bit overexcited on that road was what led me to crashing 2 miles later on the Winchelsea hairpin hehe

Guys, not sure on your route but be aware of road works on the A259 between Rye and Hastings.

Closed all weekend this weekend by the looks of things - which is a pain in the arse as I have to get to golf the long way round now frown

I quite fancy a run out on Sunday and so does Mick. Not sure where to go though as it could be as busy as mad Sunday on the IOM.

What time? Normal time that I want? Or student time that Scott wants to meet?!

Also be careful wherever you go / whatever you do. I went out for a 50 mile ride earlier and seems it is a popular time for scameravans, and this is a Thursday. Sunday will be mental. Has reinforced my point I want to go out early whilst plod are waiting for their doughnuts.

I am pretty sure one got me that I saw late mad ........... Got the 2 week wait now, but if it got me, it will be a big one..... cry

All over the place really. This weekend we're playing at Hemsted Forest, near Cranbrook.

I used to be a member at Highwoods in Bexhill, then had a stint at Dale Hill in Ticehurst.

Now play mainly society golf and have several golfing trips a year with friends. Going to Le Touquet in May, for example.

During the season we play most weeks wherever we fancy within an hour or two's drive. Mannings Heath, Crowborough Beacon, Dale Hill, Chart Hills, etc.

I'm at a party on Saturday night so student time would be my first choice but I'm not too fussed depending on where we're heading. Towards the end of last season the canal road was getting pretty broken up so considering how much rain we've had I'm not sure if it will be much fun at the moment?

We could head to Loomies for brekkie via the 272?

I love the fact that there is golf being discussed on this forum. Pete/Scott and Fleegle will be livid!!

Hemsted Forest is a cracking course, but too tough for me. Need to be too straight! Good breakfast though.

I run a society (www.letournoi.co.uk) and we have Crowborough Beacon booked for June - I used to live in Crowborough and have never played it, so am looking forward to that. Have played all you mention above (except Highwoods which I will be honest have not heard of), and been to Le Touquet loads of times. Off to Cascais just outside Lisbon this year, but think we will be heading back to Scottsdale Arizona next year as it is the best place we have been to date.

I am a member at Kings Hill, and have a mate of mine drives up from your way every week. If you ever fancy a game, and we have space, let me know. Or alternatively if you fancy playing in the society, we always welcome guests, and new members.

Guys, if I get a chance today I'll run down the Military Road and report back on condition.

Be careful - some of the pot holes out there are fking horrendous!

I'm going to have to bail if this late. By the time everyone has farted around it will be 09:30 before we hit the road, and I want to be back by midday.

Have a good time - and watch out for those scameras!

Sounds great, thanks smile

I think my wife will kill me if I join another society! hehe
Latest count I have 18 rounds already booked for the year, and that's without casual games...

Highwoods is a lovely parkland course in Bexhill, always been a members only club which is probably why you haven't heard of it but I think they do now accept societies but I'm not sure on what days, you'd have to ask.

http://www.highwoodsgolfclub.co.uk/

If you think Hemsted Forest is tough you may be in for a shock at Crowborough - not as tight, granted, but the rough and heather is a bh! At least at Hemsted if you hit into the trees 9 times out of 10 you find your ball!!!

Kings Hill looks lovely - we've not played there before. Cascais is a lovely spot - funnily enough we rode through there on our motorbikes last summer smile
