Absolutely loved it, great close racing.

Marquez was always going to be quick and i think was playing them a bit with the fp times, although understandably rusty i think the leg had no effect at all on his weekend.

Rossi still shows the grit and determination is there, his reaction after the race said it all i feel.

With all the talk about fuel consumption and how the Yamaha would struggle again this year i think it was very even and without the crashes could have genuinely been four riders battling for the win. Not seen that for a few years!
I do wonder how much (if anything) the Yamaha backed off due to fuelling issues.

Mate I warmed to Jorge big time last year..but this year he is back to his old petulant self.
I guess there's a lot at stake and he wants to win. I don't get all the crap about riders should behave one way or the other... lorenza being petulant, stoner being whiny, pedro being unemotional... who gives a st, it's all part of the drama. I wouldn't want to go for a pint with the guy when he's in that mood but to be fair he came on during the race and talked to the team about what happened in a very cool way when he'd calmed down a bit and accepted what had happened.

Great race I thought, was on the edge of my seat. I thought the commentary was ok for a first time together for a while and the stuff going on on screen was so compelling I tuned out most of it anyway.

Looks like it might be a good year. Lorenzo will really want to get back on it next time and so will EsA. Can't wait.

It's all part of the drama, the different characters make it even better than it would be if they were all just robots.

Absolutely. I was watching that review of the decade last year and would have Stoner back in a heart beat. He was unparalleled value in my opinion. You can't beat the drama of someone racing when they clearly have an axe to grind hehe

Not sure what day it was over the weekend but I saw a pic pop up on Instagram of the lone 58 bike on paddock stands on the grid, the stands were empty the track was empty nothing else in shot just the bike and view down the track and stands (A real emotive image).....it still stops me in my tracks thinking about it.

Thought the commentary was pretty awful, wouldn't have minded the BBC lot back eek
You're seriously missing "nightmare in a bubblecar"?

Nah, " Across the Stripe" sets my teeth on edge.
28 laps the journey
I know it's not cool, but I really liked the BBC team, yes there were a few catch phrases, but I liked them - I personally am quite happy to know Stavros has got his knee down in the commentary booth.

Brilliant race but the show is pretty dire IMHO, are the two commentators the same two who used to do the Eurosport version all the hardcore fans used to gush about? They're bloody awful - it doesn't help that to my ears they sound the same, so it sounds like someone with multi-personality disorder arguing with himself.

Would using a VPN not work?
is that some kind of website that tricks it into thinking i'm somewhere else? if it slows down the connection then i think it could be an issue

great racing, ok commentary, I seem to remmeber them being better so given time maybe that'll return...

was loosing hope on Rossi & although Marquez is the best replacement for him we could ever have hoped for and last years GP battle was titanic, there was a little bit of magic dying for me along with Rossis performance, to see him battling at the front like that with Marquez was better than any start we could have wished for, BIG respect to him, no, even MORE respect to him at this point in his career? to come back like that? simply amazing! prey god it continues and not just a one off.

Marquez, you sort of expect it now i guess, but still amazing to watch his one off style & he's really likeable & possitive

Bradley as well bow

Cal, shame but get how he feels, I'd be pretty much the same I think, though I'd have lumped Hodgson for grabbing me like that, plus he's a total knob.

Jorge, never quite managed to like him and am quietly please if the truth be told when he does badly, wrong I know but just dont like him.

Pedrosa, looking like another year of also ran for him, i just feel sorry for the guy all the time

What's also really interesting is what someone else over on Performance Bikes forum just pointed out.

Last year Rossi ran out of fuel on the slow down lap. This year he ran the same pace and was able to dick around pulling wheelies on the slow down lap despite have 1 litre (5% roughly) less fuel. That's some impressive progress by Yamaha in 12 months.
Seamless gearbox
Very, very good point. I'd forgotten about that.

Redding was seemingly told to watch his fuel consumption and the bike started to adjust to use less fuel from lap 5. They only roll with a 22 litre tank, but that must be a worry for some of the stop start races later in the year.

I forgot to add:-

Nakagami's appeal looks like it hasn't been upheld so it was a 1-2 for Marc VDS yesterday and Lowes gets a 6th for his debut race.

For me the race was epic, was fantastic to see Rossi back up there battling it out for a whole race, by the time it had finished my haggis and steak pie was frozen as i couldn’t keep my eyes of the tele.

Commentary isnt a patch on eurosport for the racing but its ok for free practice etc. I just didn’t feel like they captured the excitement very well.

Am i the only one who heard rossi saying “fk it ill go for it” in the interview after the race.

As for carl, fk him, he knew what he was getting moody, much smaller than he appears on the tele .

Well done to john mcphee in the moto 3

But what a pish circuit, did anyone actually get the attendance it looked like a bttc meet at Rockingham speeday

No apologies from BT Sport from what I heard, which is actually quite refreshing. Perhaps Disgusted of Tonbridge Wells doesn't have BT Sport.

You get the race warmup which BT Sport doesn't cover. Other than that the coverage of the races is the same from the same source, just different commentators and different waffle before and after.

They apologised for the 'agricultural language' but also said that it showed the passion and adrenaline rush that the racers have.
