Bloody hell, never thought you'd go into something you openly hate and are completely useless at!
It'll be good for you mate, and good for your pocket, and good for your hobbies... win win!
It won't be easy, but stick it out and give it time - rome wasn't built in a day etc! Work at it, and you will develop more common sense, a better problem solving mindset, hopefully a hell of a lot of mechanical skills, and more patience.
It will be worth it, you'll obtain a skillset/trade, earn money, and save on the costs of your hobbies (cars and bikes)
Well done, and good luck.

Cheers guys, I'm really looking forward to it. Especially because my boss said if I wanted he will teach me other things like painting and panel beating separately, so that will be handy to know as well and fun to learn at the same time.
Now is the time I need to rely on the bike to work because where the job is, you can't get there on public transport..

Is it Scotland? I did my C&G as a motor mechanic as a mature student along with three other oldies and a posse of young lads, some of whom had been told by the DHSS that they had to either go to Jobclub or take a college course, they mostly thought mechanics would be a piece of p155
The rest of the classes were made up of apprentices from the local car dealerships, late teens who treated the college day as a day off. I doubt many of them still have jobs, let alone working on cars.
The one young 'un who was keen and actually did have a clue, went to the local Vauxhall dealers; I found out recently that he didn't make it out of his twenties but died of leukemia, poor sod.
Of the oldies, one guy was already retired and just wanted to know how to maintain his Nissan Primera. He used to roll in on an old Honda Benly, three sheets to the wind most days
Another guy was mid-40s, still lived with his parents but drove a 1920s Rolls-Royce 20/25 that ran like a sewing machine and had most of the lecturers pulling-off when he brought it in. He still runs a wedding limo business 20-odd years on.
There was a guy called Albert who couldn't write his own name but turned out to be a born welder... I reckon if he'd switched courses he could have made a career as a fabricator. Most of us managed a few pigeon-sh!ts that gave the lecturers a chuckle
The course was modular so you could take however many exams per term that you felt you could pass; whenever the results were posted most of the apprentices were lucky if they scraped a Pass; the Oldies on the other hand would read Distinction... Distinction... Distinction...
Ee by 'eck, them were the days.

The owner can save it with engine braking......oh they are all auto Piss easy to work on tbh, more space than most cars & it's all simple stuff. Good car to learn on I'd say.
Just ticked over 2000 miles done on it now, and I still love it like the day I got it.
Alright so maybe now the front is very bouncy and I have NO rear brake (Doesn't even hold on a slight hill..) but I am getting those fixed tomorrow now I can take a day off work and I'm off to Milton Keynes today for the first time on it to have an explore and see what I can find.
