Are people really having lots of "SMIDSY" instances on these? more so than on any other bike?
Really????
In my experience if people aren't "looking" they won't see you, regardless of whether you are riding a Goldwing or a Grom or even in a fully marked-up POLITE bike.............
stay frosty
Missed this the first time round.Really????

If you do a lot of miles, and see some emergency vehicles being stuck behind someone who fails to notice the bright yellow day glo ambiwlans with lights blazing, I fully agree with this.
If they don't see the truck that's about as subtle as Elton John's glasses, it really won't matter if your bike happens to be 10cm lower than average.
I'd only read this thread yesterday after a search on them.
I was planning on getting a scooter soon, the justification to the mrs was to use for work in the summer and save a little money. In reality, it soon dawned on me I really couldnt be bothered to get changed 5 times a day (work, gym on the way home plus bike gear each time) so the scooter would be more of a toy, nip to the shops on, yadda yadda.
Anyway, I had noticed the MSX when they first come out but discounted them, mainly because I weighed 25 stone and 6ft, a 'mini bike' doesnt really go with that build. Fast forward to now, I've been on a nice steady weight loss plan through a lifestyle change AND I actually looked at the details of the bike, they're much bigger than I expected, considering they're dubbed a modern monkey bike.
I went down to Chiswick Honda to have a proper look at one on Sunday, they are much larger than I expected, they didnt look tiny by any means. Managed to have a quick sit on one, seemed pretty good. I was sat slightly further back on the seat, but there was enough room for my legs, nice upright seating position with quite high bars.
I'm now seriously considering one as a toy, maybe use it for a odd trip to work, round town etc. The running costs are pennies and I think the depreciation will be very small over a few years. I'm taking my dad down to pick up a scooter next week and the dealer has a MSX so I'm going to take it out for a spin and see if it rides as well as everyone says.

I'm sure they're fun but I think they look silly, especially with a fat big lad on it.
But if you're getting a silly bike why not make it the silliest;
That looks a bit bonkers lol. But if you're getting a silly bike why not make it the silliest;
Looking at people on them, anyone of normal size looks silly on them, I think thats all part of the fun. I'll see how next friday goes on the test ride.

I've finally bought one.
Currently 60 miles into the running in process and loving every second of it.
65mph is honestly terrifying, but brilliant at the same time
that's the colour i'd choose tooCurrently 60 miles into the running in process and loving every second of it.

Is yours the facelifted model or did you get new-old stock ?

It's really a big bike with small wheels.
If they made a 250 with a better chain and adjusters, I'd happily buy another but the knicker elastic chain and sh*t chain adjusters drove me nuts.
If it was cheap, i could forgive it but it's not, it's trendily priced for the fashion-conscious.
Don't forget that Kawasaki also now do a version, the Z125 which, to my eyes, is better styled than the facelift MSX although they perform pretty much alike but the Honda's brakes are better.

Afternoon all.
I finally bought a Grom. Fancied them new, but C90s were more appealing - now the ship has sailed on their value, I swung back to Groms and wish I'd done it earlier
How are you all getting on with yours and what mods are you doing? At the moment, I've just done the tail tidy and will do the airbox mod. Probably will keep the exhaust standard as small singles on a race pipe are annoying as you are always ragging them.
Plans are to improve the brakes for more stoppies and the firm the forks, plus uprate the clutch a little for better 2nd gear wheelies It has no purpose beyond fun!

Nice bike.
Is your cat male or female, we have one the same but she's coming up to 15 years old and is quite petite, I'm guessing yours is a Tom who likes a scrap due to the bit of ear missing.
She's a slightly mental female with a food fixation due to trauma before we got her from the rescue home in a bit of a state. She's a bit porky as hoovers up everything and is on a constant diet (like her owner). She is 13 now, loves humans and has a fantastic temperament, but can't cope if people are not around. A brilliant lap cat. She hates other cats and dogs and is a st fighter - hence injuries. She also loves Hondas Is your cat male or female, we have one the same but she's coming up to 15 years old and is quite petite, I'm guessing yours is a Tom who likes a scrap due to the bit of ear missing.
Funnily enough seeing this thread appear I’ve just bought a brand new one a couple weeks ago. It’s a lot of fun disguised as a convenient commuter when the weather is good.
Got my eye on a Yoshimura RS2 full system for it-hopefully it’ll add a little more beef without sounding stupid.
Completely different machine to ride to my CB1100-it’s great how it turns with an arse cheek twitch and sips fuel-just filled it up today at a cost of £5.60!
They seem to hold value well, too.
