That's why I try not to ride on Sundays, as that's typically when the dheads come out.....so typically when the Rozzers come out to keep an eye on them.

Rode today to the Pioneer Run. As the roads were full of early 1900s bikes I was taking it easy. Saw my parents parked on the other side of the road so indicated to turn right, slowed, and then as I went to make the turn the tt on the Harley behind me overtook!!

There's 6 days of the week where it's sensible to ride. Sunday is rest day!!

Sunday is the ONLY day I can ride most weeks.

I bet you see more dheads and crap riding per mile travelled on track days than you do on roads.
I bet you're wrong.

If that's the case then I can understand why you want to throw the towel in. I'd end up burning my car too if I only drove on a Sunday.

A few times today's bikers dangerously overtook me. What is wrong with just sitting back and having a nice ride. I don't get the point of taking risks just to overtake other bikes on the road. I followed an 848 for 10 miles the other day, he or she wasn't going that fast but I had no desire to do anything but keep my distance and enjoy the ride.

I am entirely talentless as a rider but ride perfectly safely every weekday. Why not commute on your bike, enjoy the road, and celebrate the absence of weekend heros?

I think he'll struggle to take all the kit he needs for his job on a bike.

No problem. The forum has already provided the answer:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=...

This will have power characteristics to shift any load. All it needs is a flat bed to be nailed on the back.

On the other hand, I've been out today, not far, a hundred miles or so, I've not been caused any issues by any other road user, no matter how many wheels they have.

thats really st back luck ...but dont let those idiots ruin what you love doing

you live in one of the nicest areas of the UK, but obviously a very busy one that attracts muppets frown

Ive been out and done a few hundred miles today around Lincs and saw hundreds of bikes out...for a change I didnt see any dodgy riding...

maybe go out in a different direction next week ! smile

Never a truer word said.

I try to avoid driving and/or riding on Sunday and to a lesser extent Saturday.

Certainly would never do a rideout on the weekend.

Sad to hear Jazoli, but there does seem to be a real lack of ability displayed in glorious Monster stickered technicolour on most weekends now.

Get a classic and potter about on back roads too small for the straight line warriors to bother you on is my advice. It's worked for me and rekindled my love of bikes smile

you really don't get all this up in Scotland....rubin is right to an extent.

ive only seen something similar once, it was the last decent weekend in September before winter.

it was glorious sunshine 15 degrees and everyone and their granny was out for the last run of the year, loads of people on your side of the road in corners and the usual cocks that you would get past then who would scream past you as you were stuck behind a car and an overtake really wasn't on.

maybe all this st weather keeps them at bay

Thing is John I wasn't even going remotely quick, probably about 50% of what I would normally ride (Yazza Speed), any slower and I'd be getting off and pushing it around corners, If I'd been pushing along I would have let them go as like you say, its easier to watch them when they are in front.

Never fail to get a dig in do ya.

Oh well, so both those incidents on the same day? Think I'd be rattled by that too. Don't blame you, must give a different perspective on life when you've got dependants.

It's the cars pulling out on me or driving oblivious to bikers around my neck of the woods which are the problem.

Just a bit of friendly pisstaking, and yep, both today within 15 minutes of each other, I'm still angry as fk about it, maybe I'll see things in a different light in a week or two, but I doubt it, after today I'm just glad myself and to a lesser degree the bike are still in one piece.

No damage when numbnuts no.2 hit you then? You've got some great biking roads near you, but every other fker from around the northwest, Yorkshire etc knows it and heads that way. I've seen the odd fkwit oncoming over the white line on the way to devils bridge too but to get caught up in two accidents of other people in one short ride is just fking ridiculous.

I avoid riding on Sundays if I can for the reasons posted above, same goes for bank holidays as well. If I do go out it is early morning before most of the idiots and unmarked police are out. However I find the biggest hazard after potholes is women on mobiles drifting across into my lane.

I have not used my bike since last autumn and find I now have to do a reccy on my favourite roads due to the appearance of random deep potholes and broken surfacing.

My sports bike is starting to become a pain as the roads gradually deteriorate into moto x tracks, only a few years ago it was just uncomfortable now the roads in Lincs are bordering on dangerous.
