Can anyone point me towards a reliable breaker or even just a supplier of these?

They seem like hen's teeth on ebay and my understanding is that a 2004 or 2002 shape will not fit my 2003 bike - can anyone confirm? Apparently the shape is slightly different across model years...

Not sure I can think of a bike I've ridden that needs a pillion seat less than an RSV biggrin

True, but the missus 'wants a go on the back' and I need something to be able to strap a bag to now and again!

hehe

That's the most confusing thread I have ever read in my life!

I *think* the general gist is that you can piss about with bodywork and tailpieces but as stock! the 03 tail needs and 03 seat...is that correct?

Worst case scenario, do you know what Aprilia want for a new one?

Ha ha - hence yes & no. They seem to conclude that an older seat will fit, but the two square tabs that slot underneath the the seat unit plastics aren't quite the same.

Over a ton iirc for a new one. Remember to look at Tuono ones in your search too...

This looks exactly the same as mine (which fits my bike fine - but I'm not guaranteeing anything!):

Looked on Aprilia yorkshire/Ultimate parts and nearer £200, can get them cheaper in the states (AF1), but you'll get hammered on postage.

03. I can do a photo of my tail section + pillion seat if you like. But trust me my bike is definitely 03 and seat is the same as the eBay ones.

Should be fine as long as she's built like a 12 year old and has race-horse experience biggrin

Thanks apriliar - no need to take a pic as I trust you wink

Are you saying that the locking tabs to locate your seat (which is the same as the ones on eBay) are spaced like the solo cowl on the thread you linked?

If so, I might be in business and can take a punt on one of the eBay ones...

Wedgie, at the risk of sounding vulgar, she knows what she's doing with a thoroughbred monster between her legs...(her ex was a rugby forward)

No he wasn't - just joking darling...

Yeah, the plastic tabs and the rubber blocks on my seat pad (looks to be the same as ebay ones) line up with the ones on my 03 cowl.

She came out for a spin earlier and declares it 'as comfy as the Thundercat but noisier' so there. In a wetsuit.
