Thanks again for the info guys, getting used to the seat, think its losing some of its glossy feel

Does the sproket mod make a noticeable difference? Read a few places saying to change them around a bit. Pros / cons?

Standard is either 14/42 or 15/45 depending on year

Depending on the riding you are doing you can go

15/45
15/47
15/49

I recommend a 15/47, slightly quicker acceleration, and still do 140+

A renthel 47T GSXR rear sprocket is what I used on rear and a triumph 15T front

Went to 15 47 on mine and it did improve pickup without losing anything really worth worrying about top speed/cruising speed to revs wise

Looks great, and good value for money. How suitable would one of these be for a first bike bike?

Perfectly suitable, great brakes and chassis and comfy with reasonable insurance.

To those with experience of these bikes, do they all display the temp in Fahrenheit? mines a UK bike with speedo etc in MPH.

I'm a Celsius guy and would much prefer the temps to be displayed in deg C. Can this be changed??

Scratch that, just found this. Looked earlier but couldn't find anything.

Might be of use to someone else:-

At the odometer setting (the one that shows your total miles you have on the bike) press and hold the "select" button for about 8 seconds. MPH goes first to KPH. Press and hold again and your radiator setting goes from F to C. Press and hold again, C stays put and KPH changes back to MPH. Press and hold again and you're back to MPH and F

Rubin215 - many thanks for the race exhaust can. Looks and sounds great.

Had a mare removing the stock can with 2 of the 3 bolts snapping the thread resulting in them just spinning!
Bit of swearing and grinding later and it was off and the new one on with new bolts.

Another massive thanks to Jase for popping round tonight to remap the bike for me. Very generous and much appreciated mate.

Just got to wait to get my wheel back tomorrow (new tyre fitted) and i can go test it out

Can't wait

Hello

If you buy a can and a k&N I have some good maps, and if you are down south or midlands happy to load a new map for you.

I also have a bespoke Map that was done on a dyno that makes it a lot smoother

That is a fantastic looking bike. I love the swoopy bodywork and the colour scheme. I found it quite startling that the Daytona 600 that followed on afterwards was so far removed in terms of looks, with lots of straight edges and angles. They're both lookers.

Do you find that the maps are important to making the bike a good ride? A lot of the material I've read on the bike says that it's been unfairly tarred with the 'st' stick because the standard setup was lazy and hesitant under 4000rpm, but a few minutes with a Power Commander can sort it out and make it pleasant and tractable from the go.

Don't need PC with these

Tune ecu is fully mappable

It does make a difference, with an open can, K&N and poor injection that they were released with its a recipie for disaster
Triumph released 11 maps in the end to resolve but buy the time they got it right the reputation was ruined

The TT600 is a good bike with good suspension and great brakes, they handle well just a bit down on power compared to the later 600a/675s R6a wtc

But they can be had very cheap and are a great buy

Couldn't agree more ... a sports 600cc for less than £1500 that still feels relatively modern to ride.

Definitely

Add in some new lines (direct from M/C instead of loop over, tad bigger m/c (5/8)
+2 rear sprocket
K&N, exhaust and a custom map
New oil and seals and suspension set up

All above for sub £300 and it's not bad at all for a 600 I4

Power pilot 3s suit well also
