I'm one of those types who always contemplates buying a motorbike when the weather starts to get better.

I would never dream of doing a what car thread but I'm a car dick and know what I want, not with bikes.

I was speaking with the guys here in Romania and I can have my lessons and bike test here for about 200quid.
Seems like a good way to spend a few days so I'm contemplating booking and going for it. Why not?

Originally I was thinking purely to get a motor cross bike which has been road legalised, something to get me to the hills and have a blast around the empty lanes and forests without the hassle of loading into the back of the pick up.

Most of my biking experience has been on trial bikes or off-roaders, the only road bike I owned was a KMX 125 many, many years ago. I like sports bikes but I think I would kill myself on something fast, the roads here are pretty disgraceful too.

So I've been skirting the Romanian classifieds for something interesting that is reasonably reliable, got enough power to keep me happy for a few years and wont be upset by the odd blast up a country lane.

My friend had a Husky 610sm around 14 ago which I always liked the look of, it had no problem keeping up with my integrale to 100mph and had back pegs. If I feel the need to take a pillion the option is there. So I'm thinking along these lines.

My budget is 1000 to 2000euros, prices for these are in my bracket.

Any suggestions, experience, for this sort of purchase?
