From a quick glance earlier it appeared that only production engines, normally aspirated, are allowed. How do turbo'd, streetfighter'd old Skool sports bikes manage to take part at all? Scrutineers looking the other way?Edited to add: He's on the entry list in that class with the number 8. The bike is listed as being built in 2014.

it's not going to be very exciting watching the Millens limping home miles behind the record pace.
Romain Dumas is there in the Norma this year.If the weather is OK, and he doesn't crash it and it doesn't break down, I'd expect a time somewhere under 9 minutes in it with him driving -- OK, nobody is seriously going to challenge the Loeb time this year, but it's still a decent hillclimb even without records falling.
Totally agree on the point that the bike rules should be relaxed by the way.

im not keen on him
I'm sure he won't be too bothered by that.Fair play to Guy, he's a talented, capable bloke with a bit of personality who appears to work hard, is doing things I'd love to be doing, (rather than working at a desk all day 5 days per week )and presumably making a good living from it.
I'd swap!

Im in the love camp not just for his racing ive enjoyed his TV stuff to.
I think the dislike started a few years ago when some of his fellow racers suggested that he focus on his race winning ambitions rather than trying to be a celebrity. After that it seems quite a few have jumped on that wagon.
Personally I really like Guy. Talent on a bike, good in front of the camera, no heirs and graces and genuinely takes an interest in his subject matter. It seems that people don't like him because he's not just another racer short on personality. We need more racers who have a bit of edge to them!

Presumably none of them were saying that during an Ulster Grand prix, which he's won umpteen times.Personally I really like Guy. He needs to break his TT duck. He's been 2nd a couple of times from memory.

Guy's guilty of making some silly career decisions, his biggest signing for the TAS team, but apart from that, he hasnt done bad.

Don't know how you could possibly Dislike Guy. He is such a character and that translates to a personality that suits Tv well.
at the TT comments. I guess that makes Rutter 'better' with his electric bike wins.
Can you please learn to quote the comments you are referring to? at the TT comments. I guess that makes Rutter 'better' with his electric bike wins.

Imagine how the Isle of Man TT would be if those same type of rules applied...................
Was just me wondering what sort of bikes would be competing and winning as opposed to fully fared sportsbikes if the TT was run under the same rules as Pikes Peak.Have a nice day, or did someone piss in your cornflakes?
My comments had the square root of fk all to do with your comments. Pretty obviously the roll eyes were to do with earlier remarks about not winning a TT. The usual site that's spouted.
I like my pissy cornflakes thank you!
Back on topic, that is some near miss with the bike landing out of nowhere
As I understand it (from reading his columns in Performance Bikes Magazine), Guy Martin can't take full credit for building the bike as I believe he bought it in pretty much the condition we all see. He's done work on it and refined a few things, but the basis (i.e. turbo, streetfighter) was all there when he took it in.
