A similar trend to OCD’s topic I thought id post the Scottish “first track day” of the year.

So myself, Prolapse and leighz were attending one at Knockhill on Friday, first of the season and the weather couldn’t have been better. 2 hour open session run by Ducati Glasgow.

Like real men we all rode up, no vans to cram tyre warmers in and spares for us, this is what i managed to get in my rucksack, my god the weight of the thing when it was on my back was crippling.

As you can see the weather was lovely, first time ive been at knockhill on the track when it didn’t piss down or at least look like it was going to

The bikes in all their glory.

Id attended a Ducati track night in September when it pissed down on my ninja, comparing the pace that time to Friday was like night and day. I’d like to think I’m top end of novice groups close to entering into intermediates I certainly was the last time in the rain. fk me the pace was fierce compared to my last visit with them. 1198’s, Rc8’s, R1s all seemed avid regulars of the track and it really showed as they left you for dust. I left my mirror hanging out as I didn’t want to hold any up and gave the odd foot signal and eased off so they could enjoy their day.

It really was a bugger though coming out on road tyres (PR3’s) you’d give it a few laps to get heat then try pressing on, the guys with slicks and tyre warmers however were straight out the traps.

Leighz was doing his first track day and was going great guns, he past me on my warm up lap and ill be honest i did think, he is a natural or going to bin it pretty soon. Sadly he pushed too much and binned it in the first 25 minutes so that was his night over. TAXI FOR LEIGHZ

Prolapse, well, well, well. What can we say about this genital man other than he is a really nice guy....in the briefing I was whispering to him asking if he was going to go with the novices (novices being first track day) i was all for getting myself a lovely bib and stood behind with the novices at the end, I then noticed prolapsed had fked off out, clearly he was too good for the novices so my male pride got in the way and i thought “fk if he doesn’t need a bib im not fking wearing one”. After my first stint i pulled in, the knockhill guy came up to me with a orange bib, fk i thought this is for me. The relief and hilarity when he asked if he knew who the owner of the cbr was. I took great pleasure in directing him in the direction of captain slow. He was handed a bib and told in a polite manner he was st slow. He accepted it though and dawned the lovely press bib, to be honest he had fk all choice...

It was a great night in all though, apart from leighz binning it and prolapse leaving 40 minutes early to get home before the sun went down. My biggest problem was my injuries from the crash cropped up and some new ones, i clearly aren’t bike fit. I found i was fked after 20 laps and had to come in just for a breather. Who says riding a bike isn’t exercise!

here are some shots action shots, I have shown paint screens of prolapse and leighz from http://www.power-images.co.uk I bought mines, obviously I dont know if leighz or prolaspe have bought theirs. Ive just used a few to make add to the topic. Hopefully they wont mind, im sure they will be getting a few.

Heres Prolapse in all his glory, exploiting the levels of grip, in IAM circles they class that lean as suicide on the road!

HOLD THE PRESS shout HERE COMES PROLAPSE

Leighz strutting his stuff

Looks like fun. Definitely looking more comfortable on the Trumpet than that old zx6
You guys should come down for a 'southern' track day. Grab a cheap b&b or broke back mountain it all in a rental van.

yeah the 675 is a much better bike and to be honest im more relaxed riding something I don't care if I bin.

Im going to pop down to have a track day with you's southern lot, knockhill gets a bit boring with it being so short. plus it might help to ride with someone who can ride. prolapse is fking hopeless not only at karting but at riding a bike quickly.

I think all this talk of him keeping up with Ferraris in his hairdressers z3 was a big porkie pie

Yep, from what I saw of 'their' thread earlier, you'd fit right in with them from the NW.
