Totally new circuit for the calendar, and it doesn't look too bad. No mickey-mouse chicanes, decent straight, and a few long "steady state" corners. What I think is certain, considering it's a new track to all the riders, is that MM will adapt quickly and go well (as per Austin last year) and Rossi will probably struggle based on his dislike of "new" circuits.

Moto2 is starting to warm up now vinales seems to of got used to the extra weight of the bigger bike, i think for this race i'd back rabat as he tested here last july so at least has seen the track.

Gp- it's going to be marquez, my main interest is can dovi or iannone get on the podium.

All the manufacturers (in the GP class at least) have some data as some teams went last year to test, Tech3, Gresini etc so they have some base settings but it will be interesting for sure.

JL needs to up his game if he has any hope of the championship and MM needs to have some bad luck for that to happen.

true lorenzos only chance is based on when and how badly marquez crashes, and i'm not even sure marquez is riding at 90% yet which is scary.

Good find. Turn 6 looks interesting; a steadily accelerating downhill left-hander.

Great pics, the elevation changes transform that circuit from bland(ish) to really interesting. I hope someone take sit to MM this week, as otherwise the title will be quite boring and the races nor much better.

That elevation image makes it look like Austin, or Portimao but it's really quite flat.

Bugger. I like undulating tracks*, they just seem to have more character.

For the GP layout, turn 9 seems to be the only up and over rise, it's the only apex you don't see until you are on it.

I hope someone tells all those people alongside the track to eff off by tomorrow... and thst they shift that water bowser on turn 12 too ! smile

Actually the track is almost flat from the video & I may have to revise my suggestion about it suiting Yamahas. Looks like a fast flowing power track on video.

...oh, as long as they give it a good sweep first too smile

No one ditched Laguna, the management at LS said they couldn't afford to host the race at a loss anymore.

Iirc it was losing 2-3 million per MotoGP race weekend, and it would have needed 4-5m in track work to bring it up to safety commission standards to allow them to renew the contract.
