Alpinestars Joey boots
I simply couldn't wear boots called "Joeys". What can I say? I'm a product of my time.

I bought some RST Stunt's recently and am impressed so far

Good vfm at £60, I just needed to drop a size (from 9 to 8)

I bought some at the TT, very pleased with them

Thanks all. I need to get myself to a shop and try a few on. I think the TCXs are still the leader in the clubhouse as I like the additional protection that they have but I need to see a few for myself.

Unsurprisingly, for someone with 6 x bike jackets, I have more than one pair of boots.

For city riding I sometimes wear Spada Icon WP short boots. Cost about £50. The velcro strap around the front is a bit flimsy but I can live with it. They do seem to be waterproof.

Traditional engineer boots FTW. No armour but gurls like them. Biker chic, Marlon Brando, James Dean etc. Frye are the best. http://www.shopbop.com/engineer-12r-frye/vp/v=1/15...

Very comfy, wear them all day, they can be resoled and heeled by any cobbler, thick top quality leather, oil resistant sole, will last for decades with a little TLC now and then. List price is £160+ but if you're patient you'll find cheap ones on ebay. I've got 2 pairs, they were about £60 or £70 I think.
So that's what the damn things are called.

I need new bike boots as my Alpinestars have fallen apart around the heel.

Not many of these boots seem to offer much ankle protection - they're not the easiest things to rebuild.
