I see this type of riding every TT as the hoards come over, there were two guys in front sliding all over the seat on the bends and sticking their knee out,it looked ridiculous, but the best bit was some guy on a pan sitting bolt upright fried them.
I've got a Pan, it feels quicker not moving about on it. They just don't seem to like it, say upright & just push it over more. Works a treat when there are no gates to target fixate on & miss the bends paperbag

Mind you I do move around on my 14, only about half an arse cheek but that bike rides better for it.

Hanging off the bike looks quite cool if you know what you are doing

However if you don't make the 90deg left hand'er down Burrington Coombe without leaving a huge darky on the tarmac into the gravel & on your underpants then you look quite a tool smash Lucky would be an understatement smash

As seen from behind, on my week before last's, very early Sunday morning run from Dorset to Scotland.

so it was you I saw at the TT. I loved it,these two thought they were TT legends,I don't know where they got their advice but I am sure if they had seen themselves they would stop doing it immediately, they were not even going fast.

Yes, because it makes me look like a legend.

Closed private road etc.

When Maquez does it, the bike is at 50-60 degrees from vertical, then he hangs off, elbow and knee on the tarmac.

At your 15-20 degrees of lean, it does seem a trifle pointless - I have driven cars that lean more in corners.

Still, I suppose you're fast in a straight line.

This is getting your knee down with a bit of lean angle, knee trapped between the fairing and track, maybe I should lean off and get my elbow down, seems piss easy too me.

Maybe I should hang off more.

So much hate.....just because you can't?
No hate here, I prefer fast road riding, not poncing around smile

Phew, so much pretention from both sides of the lean off/don't lean off argument.

Who cares, as long as you're having fun?

Few (any?) of us here on PH, whether we lean off or not, are really contenders for any racing honours, so let's just enjoy riding, any which way...

The fast bike boys corner at side-stand-lean-angles too. But then they are rubbish and don't really know how to ride.

Looks like a bit of formation riding for their videos

I've watched them absolutely caning it through the alps cranked right over, that's when they're really on it

Hanging off like the pic above at that amount of lean just looks daft IMO, but I'm sure it's still fun smile

Until my leathers shrank.....

Always found those circular motorway on / off ramps useful to practice on, otherwise see little opportunity to hang off on public roads.

The whole point of hanging off is to reduce the lean angle.

yes but it's hardly necessary when the bike is only at 20 degrees of lean to begin with tongue out

Funny that everyone's the fastest road rider ever when there are no cameras about. Ho hum.

To be honest, I'm not particularly bothered how people choose to ride, but I do find the views about hanging off and stuff on here quite funny at times.

The cameras tend to make fast road riding an expensive habit wink

That said, there is definitely a divide between the "I don't hang off" and the "Do you even lean, bro?" camps.
