If you're lucky it will start wet and dry off, then you'll feel like a total hero with infinite grip when the track dries.

Also, be really careful on downshifts - I locked the back wheel with a slightly careless downshift in the wet at Snett and very nearly pooed.
I did this in the dry at my first TD at Snetterton - all I'll say is that it's a good job leathers are wipe-clean... smile

It's my first proper track day ever.
I've done the Ron Haslam day and a few laps of the ring but I've booked myself on as a novice.
The weather's looking like starting dry now with a possibility of showers later on, so I'm really hoping that we get lucky and avoid it altogether but if it does rain downshifts are one thing that I had already been thinking about as the Mille does like to lock up if you're a bit quick into 2nd.

I was once like this when I had my first few track days, id spend hours looking at the long range weather forecast, then a week in advance then a few days then finally the day before.

forecasts are really only worth the paper they are written on if its within 48 hours, even then they change dramatically at times.

living in Scotland ive came to terms with waking up and it being lovely then all of a sudden pissing down for the duration of my track day.

you can still have fun but its not as enjoyable, just take it easy and stop thinking about it too much, you'll work yourself tense

What-da-ya-know? - forecast says it's going to warm and dry all day now.

See you there.

What group were you in / bike were you on, bladerrw (assuming that it was a different one to the one that is your username)??

Didn't work out too bad weather-wise in the end.
I was in novices, so after the rain / lunch there were two other groups out before me, so the worst I saw on track was a couple of damp patches.
