DAS done. Fazer bought
Discussion
Hi all....
Just thought I'd pop a quick note in here that I passed my module 2 on Friday (having done my CBT a year ago to the day it took a long time for me to get my act together and sort the rest out!). I'd not bought a 125 so hadn't ridden a bike since then before I did my mod 1 (and associated practice days) a couple of weeks ago.
I picked up my 'new' bike yesterday, it's a 2002 Yamaha Fazer fox-eye in blue - I've tried to add a pic below. I've only ridden it a few miles so far, but it is amazing, absolutely love it!
Hoping to pick up some tips and advice from this forum - lots of helpful info here led me to buying a Fazer!

After crashing my 1 year old XJR 1300 in feburary (very sad day ) my dad gave me his fazer 600 to get about on. I wasn't expecting much but boy, is it a good bike! The handling puts my old brute to shame and although not as fast it certainly is chuckable. 6 months on and I'm now selling mine, as personally it doesn't exite enough. But had this been my first bike I think it would have been a great starting point.
Good buy OP, get out and enjoy

Get ya coat!!Spitting image of mine bar my gash white and blue wheels. Had mine a few days over a year now and have put around 14k on it, should do you well. Head over to http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php if you haven't already for some very knowledgeable folk.

Great purchase sir, I've had mine three yrs+ now, ride it every day to work and most weekends at some point or other, done 20k miles on it now and it's still fizzing along happily. Brilliant little things, zippy yet stable, comfortable all day and capable of upsetting many a "big" bike if you're in the mood. My last tankful showed 246.5 miles too
It's probably a PUIG one, I've got one like it sat in the shed as it created a lot of turbulence over 60 for me. Went back to standard like yours then added an MRA XCreen thing which was terrible when positioned as expected but I set it down flat and found that was significantly better, guess it makes things act more like a naked bike. Have to admit the Fazer isn't too nice a place to be at 70+ on motorways (personally speaking) but great for buzzing around on in general.
Cheers,
Rob

Congrats on passing! Your Fazer fox-eye looks terrific in that shade of blue. Nice one.
Welcome to biking - enjoy!

... One good tip is to get booked on a BikeSafe course, because you'll get lots of useful advice. Better still, do a day with Rapid Training to massively boost our skills: utterly brilliant and great fun Welcome to biking - enjoy!
