fking bike stuff is too unreliable. Another £22 just gone in a puff of smoke.

I realised my Roadhawk helmet cam is randomly switching itself off. I've left it pointing at the TV recording the Commonwealth Games for the last 1/2 hour on batteries and it is still going, so I'm taking a guess that one of the camera power cables has had the dick as it is supposed to automatically switch on an off with the ignition. So, £22 on a new set of power cables.

The pinlock on my helmet is fked as well, so as soon as autumn comes that will be another £50 on a new visor and pinlock.

Moan, moan, moan.

I don't have a bike camera, does that make it cheaper?

Biking is very cheap... compared to running a V8 car.

Switch your economical 330d for something more breakable and thirsty (ropey Maser 3200GT perhaps?), and your bike will soon seem like great value.

Nor me, it's hardly what I would class as biking gear...

Yamaha xj600n - £700
Years insurance - £60
Years servicing costs - £50
Years tax - £56

Doesn't have to be expensive! Might be an Astra amongst motorcycles but still more fun than driving

I also just replaced the speakers and microphone in my helmet (£50... parts had been hanging around the house for a couple of months). The old one went fubar so I could still listen to Barry Manilow on the GPS/MP3 player, but I was no longer able to answer the phone while riding.

so what are you doing with the camera?
if youre one of these talk crap while riding then post it on the web you need to stop it now!
do you just like to keep hundreds of hours of video of you just riding about?
do you keep all your piss in jars?
answering the phone while on a bike?
why?

Have you tried mounting it on the bike instead, Maybe you'll get some better footage?

I find riding my motorcycle quite cheap

2 spark plugs to change instead of 4, 2 tyres to change instead of 4, 3 calipers instead of 4, spare parts easily obtained through ebay

insurance is under 200 as opposed to over 1200 for the car, tax is 70-something instead of...i cant even remember for the car, even the MoT is cheaper

uses less fuel so thats cheaper

bike only cost £1500 8 years ago compared to 4500 for the car last year

dont pay for parking in most places, when i do its a pound

dont pay dartford toll

dont pay congestion charge

I think keeping the bike running and using the bike is quite cheap.
