i used a 5.7 v8 corvette as a daily commuter years ago when my peugeot packed in... 9.6 miles round trip. £10 per day petrol, plus my insurance was £2400 for the year (£6.58 per day), plus the cost of ongoing maintenance....

now that was expensive!

Can't think of a cheaper mode of transport excluding the initial purchase price.

Blackbird, 6k miles this year. Insurance 85 quid, tax 80, rear tyre 110 quid fitted, 50 quid on service parts.

R1150RS 10k miles or so Insurance 40 quid, tax 70, some cheapo oil and a filter 14 quid.

Pair of gloves 60 quid.

I've spent more on cycling.
