I have always worn disposable ear plugs and only ever owned Arai helmets over the past 9-10 years.. am now due a change. Tried the Schuberth but I don't like the fit.

Thinking about either HJC R-PHA10+ or Shoei NXR? Anyone here have one and previously owned Arai to comment?

Cheers
I have an HJC R-PHA10 (not +) and an Arai RX7GP.
The HJC is much quieter, lighter and IMO more comfortable with a more plush interior, it also has a better visor mechanism than the bloody stupid side pod Arai pish.
The Arai does look cooler though.

I got hold of a WindJammer, fitted it yesterday to my Shoei Qwest. Had to remove the Shoei Whisper strip but the Windjammer covers up more than that did. Early days yet but I think there's a slight improvement. I'll be trawling over the M62 tonight so a good chance to test it out properly.

Cheers,
Rob

Thought I'd add back to this now I've had the windjammer for a couple of weeks and a few hundred miles of motorway grind. Initially I can't say I thought there was much in it between the jammer and the Shoei collar/chin bit however I noticed on Wednesday when I was fiddling with the front vent that with my hand in front of the chin of the helmet things got noticeably quieter.

I must have looked like a bit of a dick riding along the M62 waving my hand in front of my face but all in the name of scientific research! I figured that the noise must be coming from the vent holes cut in to the front of the jammer so I taped them up (and the ones on the back for good measure). Result much quieter and no need to ride around with my hand on my helmet wink Interestingly the tape at the back started to come loose after 100miles yesterday and that didn't half make a racket when I turned my head, just shows how well helmets transmit sound around considering it was only a small piece of electrical tape that was stuck to a piece of soft neoprene, so not even directly attached to the shell.

Anyway, enough rambling, I'll go bodge up a better fix to cover my holes and be a bit happier. Worth trying the jammer IMHO if you're suffering from noise given the low price.

Cheers,
Rob

I have a Schuberth C3 and have never worn earplugs in 50 years riding. Stone deaf mind..
Not really - my hearing was recently tested and is A1.
