Team Lucking Fast rides again at Oulton 13th Sept
Discussion
You both rode well by reports back.
PS, Si, i told you at anglesey your suspension was too hard!! That R1 was so stiff it didnt move and placed it in the tyre, for the wet i usually soften a bike off 2 clicks everywhere, with the r1 i took 4 off and it was better, hence why i lapped faster in that damp mizzle st on drys.
Id suggest booking a day with Phil Crowe, one of the to boys in UK when it comes to setting a BMW up.

The lights went off and I jogged across the track and onto the bike. Just as I swung my right leg over it, my calf muscle cramped and it was agony! No choice but to ride through it through it. The start / finish "straight" at Oulton is thankfully longer than Anglesey, so the first corner was a bit less hectic and things had settled down a bit by then. That was after a hairy moment though, as Russ Mountford of Silicoen Engineering's bike bogged down and lost all power. I was accelerating hard and just moved over to try to overtake a rider and was on his barely moving bike in a flash. I reckon I'd be OK on the Mod 1 swerve test! There's a video on my FB page for those connected to me (about 10 secs in)
I wondered why someone so obviously quick was passing so many on the first few lapsFleegle said:
Half a lap into my last stint the safety car came out. There was only a few crashes throughout the race that I noticed, but this one had left the bike on the edge of the track. I used the time to get up to the pack and take a breather for the next 5 laps. The car came in and the race was on. I managed to overtake a good few bikes with other bikes set in my sights, one of which was the team just in front of us. I was able to pull a few seconds back on him and was close enough to have a go, but the tyre had started sliding about more than I liked so decided not to ruin 2 teams weekend by going for it. Had I have been on the KR's I wouldn't have given it a second thought.
If you had a closer look there was actually a rider flat on his back and 2 British Red Cross Ambulance crew in the gravel (myself being one of them) the car gave us the safety to get the rider to his feet and walk him behind the barrierturbotim43 said:

I don't know how to take this ??If I take a closer look I become one of him due to target fixation. I saw yellow flags and had over 2 1/2 hours of adrenaline pumping through me. My main concern is a) do not overtake and b) watch out for debris or fallen riders on the track (in any order)
I wasn't moaning about the fact the car came out as that is one of those things in racing. In fact my only moan would be that one of the racers couldn't keep up with the car and he had to adjust his speed....all the time our tyres were going off
How was the rider involved?

Bad choice of words from me I think, what I meant was that the safety car was not for the bike (the marshals had already cleared a few during the race under yellows at cascades) but because the rider this time decided to not get up so they sent the car out while we checked him and moved him (takes longer than moving a bike)If I take a closer look I become one of him due to target fixation. Very glad do not overtake was one of your priorities, there was quite a few during the day by other people but not sure if they got reported or not
all in all very impressed with the day, first bike meeting at Oulton in quite a while with no stops, some excellent racing, and even most of the fallers I met were happy(ish) :-)
Look forward to Hottrax coming back next year

Aah. Better safe than sorry in those circumstances. There was a few overtake me behind the safety car. Because of the slow rider it took a while for some to work out what was going on......a big pack of bikes but no car.... happily those that had overtaken gave up the advantage when all became clearVery glad do not overtake was one of your priorities, there was quite a few during the day by other people but not sure if they got reported or not
Hope you guys weren't kept too busy over the Fri/Sat
