I think it was when bloke with a tyre warmers nearly taken out by a rider pulling onto the grid after a red flag I thought, yes, this isn't the motoGP.

Or that white bungalow on the circuit where the owner has at least four Rottweilers chained to the different corners of his property, I thought, "yes, I am in very much in the Northern Irish countryside".

Nah big screen was st mate. Sod replays I'd have settled for racers' names being up and not have the helicopter camera record his skid for about 50% of the race.

We did go for a brief wander. Was good for 5 minutes, then the familiar silence and scream of ambulances meant we had to walk back again in the drizzle. I would have gone out again, but it was my stag do and the poor bds had already stumped up £150 for a ticket to something they weren't interested in.

But yeah, definitely will do that next time.

I thought it was good although the weather could've been better. A bike copper I spoke to on the Friday said it's only about 1 in 10 that's dry.
Seriously rough crossing on the ferry back yesterday with 10 bikes toppling over, 3 of my mates bikes received pretty bad damage, broken fairings, dented tanks, mirrors off etc.
Luckily still rideable.

Know what you're saying. Mind you, when the course clean up van was bringing back the damaged bikes and they were off-loading them, there was a throng of ghouls outside our pit. Don't really understand that. We were getting the bike ready for the next race and had to push through them to fetch and carry.
I guess like scunnylad says that's the balance isn't it? I think most of us would agree it's human nature to be curious, but it's not beyond any of us to show some respect and choke it down. I can ensure you rather than gawping I was in the hospitality tent drinking the terrible Lidl wine they provided.

Do you mind if I ask who you were with?
With Mototech. We had a bike running in the supertwins. Finished fourth despite the back tyre eating itself after the first lap! We were debuting the new EBR at the meeting as well, the first one in Ireland. Great response to that as well. The travelling marshalls and the chief MD used her on the Thursday and Saturday, so plenty of exposure.

I felt ropey but managed to keep everything down!

My RC8 shat the baffle out on the way over and deafened the whole of NI over the weekend, after I got home it felt like I had a bloody kango hammer inside my head. Felt a bit embarrassed when I fired it up and all helmets rotated round in my direction.paperbag
