Trip to Millau - must sees/dos en route?

A couple of us are biking down to the bridge next month and it's a part of France I don't know at all. The roads look pretty cool in the area but any pointers to must see roads in the area or on the route would be cool please.

Some beautiful roads in the area, amazing views of Usson and the Puy de dôme.
Great food and a friendly atmosphere. They may even have rooms available to stay by now, I know they were renovating last time I was there.

Ample safe parking for bikes and ask John about his Citroen traction-avant. I know they get pretty busy in august, so might be worth a phone call if you're a big group for food.

Depending on which way you're going... if you're taking the A20 past Limoges it's not a massive detour to Oradour-Sur-Glane, if you fancy a bit of WW2 history, Nazi murdering etc..

Just as impressive is driving the old road underneath the bridge. get the proper scale of it looking up!

Also, ride the Gorge Du Tarn - here's the detour that I did when not the way to spain, the route brings you back out onto the motorway so you can get off at the service area for the millau bridge viewing point. The gorge is spectacular and never ending smooth roads and bends.

Another vote for Oradour-Sur-Glane on route.

As for the bridge, we went up the gorge to the west from the bridge and it was a lovely road.

Agree to a certain extent, but to go all the way there and not cross over the top (at cost of the toll) is a loss really. Top side still gives an unmistakable photo op.

You see nothing driving over the bridge as the sides are high.
