So I was given a pair of Pirelli Super Corsa's which had only done 1 track day and seem in tip top condition.

The date stamp says they were made in the later half of 2012.

Is it worth running these on my track bike or road bike in the spring?

I guess I am worried about the tyres hardening.

Unless they were badly heat cycled (sounds not) or your riding VERY fast, they should be fine.

Tyres don't harden that fast. At least not the the extent that anyone riding much below national championship level would notice.

I am far below that level of performance. smile

I just seem to be more cautious with my bike tyres as obviously I enjoy adhesion to the road.

Thanks... I guess I have now found my replacement track tyres for the GSXR or spring tyres for my blade.

Depends how they have been stored. If left outside over winter they will have gone rock hard.

Indeed, but the OP said they seemed in tip top condition.

I went to Cadwell last year on a road bike only TD so I had to borrow some tyres, the rear was the old style Supercorsa and date stamped June 04.

The front was only 5 years old.

Yeah I am probably fretting for nothing.

The tyres were stored in a garage and are in good condition. Although having been on a track they are blue and have been run to the edges as would be expected.

They are being stored in my garage now. I think I have 2k left of my S02's on my blade which I should see out by the time the salt comes. I'll wack these on see how they go. Or they'll go on the track bike for Almeria hopefully.

I have tyres previously used on track, several years old for the road, and do ok, and a some new old stock that are perfectly good, all on superbikes, mostly Pirelli, use Diablo Corsa as all weather, but currently have standard Diablo as a rear. Others are Dragon or Diablo Supercorsa or pro, all on the road.

I hear a few say it's how they're stored
