Anyone used one of these units?

Seems good value to add traction control a quick shifter and power comander type mapping.

I had a highside on my blade last winter and thankfully managed to save it by landing on my balls and holding on.

As my blade is a keeper I thought that a quickshifter and power commander are natural upgrades. This lot does all that and add traction control.

Any thoughts from anyone who has used it?

I have had this fitted since my 600 mile service. Worked a treat for the past 3 years on road or track. The QS works well and so does the TC, managed to just save a high side at Anglesey. may have been luck or with a little help from the Bazzaz. The rear let slip, but I did not come off the bike. st my pants mind you

As I said it was fitted at the first service and had it dyno'ed with 2 custom maps for max power and a little less for the rain and colder weather. I have the flippable switch on the handlebars as well. And it's fitted of course to my 2011 blade

Not had a single issue with it

I know McKeann had a Bazzazz fitted to his R1 and spent a lot of time arsing around with it.

Hasn't stopped him crashing altogether though

The TC on these is better than nothing but not anywhere near the standard of the latest factory fit TC systems.

I was going to go for a handlebar adjustment and the shift light..

I think it makes my ABS Blade pretty complete it terms of technology.

Never going to be as good as factory but I am sure in Autumn and winter I will appreciate the back up.

My mate (Aky) had one fitted to his new bike a few years ago but forgot to switch on and knocked himself out at Cadwell park.

I think Linksblokey and LoonR1 were there that day.

Yup!

Bazzaz, not that good. The Shifters destroy gearboxes (much like the Dynojet ones) the fuelling is quite good though, maos every 250rpm and has ability to do all 8 injectors, unlike 4 injectors every 500rpm like PC5.

Also, the TC looks at 'rev spikes' to gather info, not wheel speed sensors etc.

OP, If you really want the bogs dollox TC, buy an HRC Loom & ECU with traction rings, then you can actually use the proper stuff.

Or try the Nemesis TCS. Ask Steve (BassGT3) for his opinion.

I use one on my track bike with a bespoke slip map for Dunlop KR slicks and it gives a lot of confidence being able to pin the bike out of 2nd gear corners whilst still cranked over. Allows various degrees of tyre slip, configurable on the fly.

Completely agree, Nemesis is V V good, however its still fairly expensive isnt it?

Approx £1800, plus around £250 for a compatible QS.

It's a sort of halfway house between "proper" (pectel, Marelli, etc) TS's which start at around £5k and the horsest at the lower end of the market, which can only deal with spikes, rather than detect true wheel slip, or have gyrometers and accelerometers built into the to account for lean angle and braking/accel.

The big boys systems need a lot of knowledge and time to setup properly though.

Per Steve (bass) the Nemesis is ahead of the "factory" (i.e. OEM) S1000RR/HP4 system and on par with the Aprillia APRC kit. Although BMW do offer a range of add ons for their HP4s which allow for customisable slip maps, rather than just a simple 1-9 sensitivity setup (as per the Panigales....)

I would like some traction control on my road bike... However the HRC Loom and ECU 'sounds' prohibitively expensive.

A basic system that can assist in Autumn or Winter roads stopping me spinning up is all I am looking for.

I need a few more track days before I am using any TC to allow the wheel slip while exiting corners.

By that time I'll be going for BMW, Aprillia or Kawasaki I imagine.
