Avuss Superbikes Paisely gone?
Discussion
Does anyone know what happened to Avuss? I only bought my bike from them a few short months ago and was there probably June/July and they seemed to have loads of stock etc.
Went past the other day and there was no sign, shutters pulled down etc etc. Have they folded or moved somewhere else?

I say "I think" as I just did a search on companies house and that was the stated condition. Not guaranteed to be correct! Is there anyone else around Glasgow that can service Aprilia bikes?

Pity as they had some really nice bikes in stock.
Yes avuss are gone from the bike trade,it's through tough times that people that are passionate about motorcycling continue to serve like minded bikers. Car dealers looking for a fast buck often drop like flies, I'm sure avuss fell into the later category .there are plenty passionate bike dealers, workshops etc in glasgow area, give them a try!
they seem to come and go every couple of years
also alan duffus do aprilia stuff I think
get yourself onto rsvr.net - there are some locals trying to get a travelling service day up this way. Last time it was in whitburn.

I own a motorcycle repair business, mot station in east end of glasgow and thinkg are getting harder for everyone in the trade as customer numbers dwindle. On The lighter side though I am constantly being told how NICHE. My business is . I happened to look it up in dictionary,,,,,a comfortable or suitable position in employment,,,, suitable yes but comfortable!!! Maybe 8 or 9 years ago but not now!.

Slight thread hijack but whats happened to Carrick in Edinburgh? They were the local Yamaha dealer. They shut shop what seems like overnight.
Did they close down before or after Saltire got the Yamaha franchise? Carrick were terrible in my opinion anyway, so not great loss (other than the obvious sadness for those who lost their jobs). Russ at carrick was getting mucked about by yamaha , as was ride on in glasgow. Both pulled out of the franchise agreement . Carrick tried the Chinese import route but the numbers didn't work , so closed. The yamaha franchise was offered to almost anyone who would take it. Saltire stepped up and I hope it works for them..jim allan was reported to say that sales had not increased even after the other two competing yamaha dealers had closed, a worry in its self.

The shop shut within the last week. It was like they did a midnight flit.leighz said:

I'm guessing that's Stevie Briarton near to Parkhead (off London Rd), as used by Bike Rite rider training and Avus for MOT's / repairs etc. Stevie I met you briefly when I did my rider training and whilst working for Scottoiler a good few years ago now.
