At the end of August our contract on the lease of the building we rent, ran out .... As there has been changes to the new lease we have decided not to renew ! The robbery we had a few months ago helped with our decision to close for good ..... As we are loomies ..... Loomies will be closed for good on the 26th oct 2014.....
We would like to Thank you all for the 7 years and for making it so great . We have loved it . What an amazing life experience it has been , we have met and gained great friends we have also met some strange people lol .
I will miss you all .... Poor Leon it's only going to be him I shout at now ."

Guess it'll be an Indian or a Chinese buffet place before long, then.

Gutted to see a business fail as they seemed like genuine and nice people
That said in terms of gastronomy, I never really thought the food was that special.

There is always the pub over the road.

Somewhere will need to fill the void as a meeting place/brew stop in that area.

...with all its made-up kitsche country fayre ste.
At least Loomies no-frills approach meant there was no cheesy facade. Good honest scoff.

Bad news indeed, it had such wonderful roads in every direction. Looks like the Southern Rune owners will have to find another gaff to hang out.

I remember when it was first available after the demise of the Little Chef.

If an independent doesn't pick it up, it will end up being a Starbucks.

That's what my money's on. "Changes to the lease" often equates to "higher rent" or similar increased overheads which only a large chain can withstand. More local area character lost :-(

Bummer if Starbucks as you'll only get a marginally better coffee but at three times the price. Not sure bikers will be their target demographic though.

Marginally better? How does a poncey name like Mocha-frappochinatte make coffee "better"?

Doesn't strike me as a potential Starbucks location. They are usually in town centres with lots of passing foot traffic.

Tesco Express on the other hand........

Despite the poncey names the basic coffee they make is good but well overpriced.

The food is decidedly average at best, but still gutted to see it go! frown

Try Mick's Burger Van a bit further down the A32, on Portsdown Hill overlooking Portsmouth.
That redefines "decidedly average", and that's assuming you don't get mobbed by seagulls or feel all awkward in amongst the car loads of middle-managers taking their office junior girls out "to meet some of the clients".
