I hope they get the camping as sorted as silverstone.

I guess for donington this is easy money? The welsh track have already paid to host the gp and they are now paying donington to host it next year so donington get the ticket money without having to pay to host.

Is it really though?

Club grandstand, luffield, becketts all give you views of a couple of corners.

Spectator facilities like campsites, toilets and silverstone wins hands down.

Yes craner curves is good but that's it, mcleans, coppice, even my favourite melbourne loop only gives you brief views.

All that said though i can't wait until next years gp.

Awesome for access, which Donington is still crap at. frown

Silverstone has always seemed a bit soulless and clinical to me. Even though it's a nicer place to be than Donington was back in 09 when the GP was last there.

If the. Bank is still there you can stand outside of Macleans on the way to Coppice and see a much bigger section of track.

Unfortunately the days of spectating on the big banking before Dunlop bridge appear to be gone, when you could see 80% of the circuit, unless you were really diminutive of stature.

The paradox is that. Silverstone is producing great races, much better than Donington ever did, but as a spectator I'd always prefer to go to Donington. Even after being stuck in a field for 4hrs and getting home at 1am!!

To me, attending the MotoGp is not only about being able to watch some great racing (hopefully) but also to breath in the atmosphere.

I have only attended Silverstone a few times.....once when Mansell won the F1 championship and the facilities were so bad I avoided for another decade. Once to watch WSBK and the views available were crap and I left before the second race, and once at club racer level were we was treated like second rate citizens by the staff.

It is for cars and corporations. There is no room in their to agenda to accommodate bikes or the fans.

I'm pleased it's going to Donny and will happily 'suffer' the lesser grade facilities

The way I see it it's our home gp , if you can afford it and claim to be a fan you attend and cheer on the home riders ( even cal wink ) which venue is neither here or there.
