What are the dates.
I was going to ask this. if it's the last weekend of Aug as per this year I'm taking the wife an kids camping at Donny. They enjoy the camping, the rain, cold of our Aug while i'm pissed watching Moto GP. YES sounds like a plan if it is the same weekend

Nope.

If you can't be assed to go to your home grand prix then your no better than those arm chair football supporters who support man united but not enough to make any effort to watch them.

If you can't afford it or are posted offshore/overseas fair enough.

Don't be such a fecking donkey

Silverstone is arse. Why would I pay a shyte load of money to visit a circuit that you can see feck all at, and added to that I really despise the place. So that makes me not a GP fan??

Over the last few years I have supported the GP at circuits that both the circuit owners have shown they want there and the fans are fanatical. And the sun has been shining!!

With the greatest respect mate, your talking ste.

I went to Silverstone in 2012, it was bland, boring, the facilities were really badly kept, and to top it all off it cost me more for a beer & a burger than it did to travel there & back, top it off with nazi security guards that make the donny staff seem hospitable and it made my mind up.

However, at Donington, the circuit is better, the atmosphere is miles better, even the average facilities they have are kept cleaner than the ones at silverstone! Plus its much easier to get to, camping is miles more fun and the riders love it too.

By your own admission your opinion is based on what happened 2 years a go, that was the cold wet race wasn't it?

I went to the f1 that year and swore id never go again , woodlands campsite was mud , st organisation and g4s staff.

Stayed there at moto gp and they've got there st together, decent security and staff always cleaning the toilets in the campsite and at the track.

So id say its you talking ste based on a outdated opinon

Really? thats strange, as the mojority of folk i know who went said fk all has changed, and its still the same overpriced, soulless cesspit it always has been.

Enjoy your memories of Silverste, and hold onto them whilst we all have a riot at one the of the greatest circuits nature has produced.

Campsite wise they've totally changed the layout to prevent wet weather turning it into a mud pit, sit down steak/curry restaraunt. Staff hanging around cleaning toilets/showers all day.

Trackwise staff cleaning toilets all day, staff cleaning rubbish from grandstand after every race.

I'll be going to donington next year and will be interested to see if they just handle camping the same as at download festival ie.you park up then have to carry all camping stuff to the campsite.

I agree with Fleegle. Silverstone is a big sack of old balls if you're a spectator. Donington is lovely, despite the toilets.

Donington/Silverstone, I've been to both and Silverstone's facilities were better, but the circuit is dreary, and it's crap for viewing the action.

Personally however I'll not bother visiting CoW if it ever happens. I'd rather go to a fly away race than travel that far to a "home" race. And they all speak weird over there.

Even if they build a awesome track, if the track ever actually gets built.

It'd have to have a loop the loop or a crossroads in it to get me there.

Bit of a stter for Silverstone, who basically redesigned a load of the track to get Moto Gp hehe

Fingers crossed the 2015 date is earlier in the year, so I can actually make it!

Has anyone been in the last two years?
To Silverstone?? Nope. I refuse to handover any more of my money there. Instead I spent my money at Jerez, Aragon and Mugello. But I'm not a fan because I didn't attend the home GP

Yes was there a few months ago to enjoy the pleasure of being the only motorcycle club race held on the new section of the track. I now know why no other club has run there, facilities were rubbish and mostly shut. The staff just didn't want motorcycles there, they couldn't be bothered to even keep the café open past the racing.

Joke is everyone complained about Donington for years and the glory days of Silverstone were much better. Might have been before the track was turned into a concrete F1 jungle. Don't expect Donington to be much better, but at least the circuit is better for the racing and you are a bit nearer the action.

As for the Circuit of Taffs, lets hope they get it right and not just another Rockingham.
