Wow, when did you last watch MotoGP ?

BT Sport just aren't a big player from a media perspective and every media outlet will have wanted a piece of Rossi, check out the link below for the global list of broadcasters, I suspect BT are one of the lowest exposure ones ...

http://www.motogp.com/en/MotoGP+Basics/tv_broadcas...
As I said in my previous post above only watched the last 2 races - Cheers for the info,

Hence why I said lack of thread/comments due to less people watching Moto GP as its on BT Sport.

Not sure what you're watching but for me, as per my comments on this subject after the previous race, the two goons they have doing the race commentary are about as interested, informed, alert and knowledgable as, say, Alex Salmond would be if he were commenting on Madagascan centipede breeding.
When was the last time you watched gp?

Julian Ryder was doing the same job with eurosports for donkeys years and there were few complaints then.

I think the lack of comments is pretty much down to the fact a few usual posters were actually racing last weekend.

Hmmmm. So Julian Ryder who was worshipped when doing EuroSports coverage for the last decade and Keith Huewen who was a pretty decent racer himself are no good? Watch the Foggy WSB era. You'll see that these two were the Sky Sports dream team that everyone loved. In fact people objected when they were broken up, much like many cried about when the EuroSpart Ryder / Moody tema was broken up last year. You really think Steve Parrish and Charlie Cox were a better pairing?

~20 years watching MotoGP on Eurosport, way way before BBC coverage. Which was pants. I'm glad that Julian survived and I like the current BT Sports coverage. I'm willing to pay them for Broadband but when they add £20/month I may have to switch to WSBK...

I was never one of the Eurosport fan club, they drove me potty back then as well but at least they didn't appear to be contractually obliged to only utter lines from their A4 sheet of scripted cliches for the duration of the race. Not that BBC2 were much better, but I'm sick to death of hearing about how Rossi said (about 100 years ago) that you have to come straight back at MM and break his rhythm, every time another rider gets within a bikes length of him. And as for whichever of the two twerps it was this week who carped on about something like "Lorenzo's commanding lead of the race" and then corrected himself when he realised that JL had been P3 and then P2 by default for about 10 laps.....jobs in other professions would be looking at the sack for similar inability to perform. It sounds much as if they're mostly concentrating on their knitting and then gobbing something inane off whenever the producer yells in their ear.

And fwiw, @egor, this weekend (and every other this season, so far, not to mention god knows how many years past.

Oh no.... 'Fanbois' has made the jump from F1 to motogp. It will become an even bigger, more petty p*ssing contest now.

I not sure what's driving the shorter thread (but it's not Huwen and Ryder). It's happened pretty suddenly over the last two months.

Perhaps we need a 'Corser would wipe the floor with them all' thread?

The threads are probably shorter as they have been reducing over the past few years as the racing is non existent. Forget results and who is winning or not, it is the lack of wheel to wheel action on a regular basis that's killing it.

I like Keith and Julian
I liked Julian and Toby
Better than that prick Aussie guy - nightmare in a bubble car.

Had the pleasure spending two evenings just by chance with Julian and Toby and Neil Spalding while in Jerez for the moto gp
I have never met two nicer blokes who are so passionate, funny, and full insight about the sport we all love.
They were just as excited about being there as I was.

I too like the Julian and Toby commentating duo.

Ryder reminds me of Murray Walker, makes mistakes but it doesn't aggravate me like James Allen used to (in F1)

As for Misano, was so good to see Rossi win a race and for it to be his home one was all the better.

I think it was Moody who mentioned that after his fall Marquez was lapping at the same times as Dovizoso, so when he was fighting Rossi for first the Honda was just being pushed too hard.

It was no surprise to me that Parrish and Cox weren't hired as the commentators for BT Sport. As far as I could see most of fans thought they were useless commentators. From what I've heard, Parrish was an idiot in real life too.

ermmm, you do realise Toby isn't commentating on MotoGP anymore? it was Keith Huewen who noticed MM's laptimes post-accident were much reduced from when he tried to battle with Rossi

With reference to BT sport coverage, I refused to pay extra and so didn't. Since then as O2 who I had broadband with was bought by SKY so I ditched them and went to BT for broadband and so got BT sport. I wasn't expecting much but now have to admit they're doing a great job and I think the coverage is superb. Only one tinsey wincey criticism and that is can someone please tell Toseland to stop doing that wrinkle free inane grin to camera when not talking.

There's always moto3 to write about, lack of wheel to wheel action is not something you/we can pin to moto3.

I don't agree with that. You can't use SkyGo or BBC iPlayer abroad either and you can't access British EuroSport any other way for free. You could however find Eurosport online for whichever country you are in. BT are doing a good job of the coverage IMO. They give it huge airtime, much more than the BBC did with Red Button coverage and more professional than EuroSport's coverage.
Yep, while i thought eurosport coverage couldn't be beaten, BT coverage has been a real step up, loads more coverage, pitlane stuff before the race, lots of interviews and they don't cut away straight after the race. The moto gp show on the tuesday nights after a race is even quite good. Quite similar to the SKY F1 coverage in many ways. Missing Spalders input though.

I prefer the BT commentary to BBC, though not convinced by KH he has improved during the season. I think access to BT is the issue not the content.

Anyone remember when it was on Channel 5?
Yep , get replace kh with toby moody and i think they'll have got it sorted.
