Er, isn't this fairly obvious why the number of under 19s taking a bike test has fallen?

I suspect it's the sane reason there are f-all test passes on 50s ... why take the test when you can do the same as a learner. The numbers would go up if the only way to get a bike licence was by doing an i tensive course and unsupervised learner rifing was either banned or made difficult.

I think it's good thing to show concern over the state of your "hobby ". If no one (comparatively) new is entering it then it does die a death eventually.
^ this. Enough bike dealers have gone to the wall in recent years.

Never mind motorcycle instructors ... how they make a living these days, I wonder ... ? They must have been having a nightmare time with all the recent shenanigans. It wouldn't do motorcycling any good if the number of learners was too small to keep the riding schools afloat.

i vaguely know a few M/c instructors tand they are doing ok, but they are fairly business savvy and have a vbery good control on their overheads, they also work the vast majority of weekends and take any days off in the week ...
