I've always had tomtom for the car, but decided against the rider as a lot of research showed me that the cradles were a weak point and read lots of duff reviews. Ended up going for a Garmin Zumo 390LM and I'm delighted with it. Rainproof, bright screen, easy to use on the go and with gloves, works with my Sena 20S bluetooth headset intercom which is also the bks. Can't say a lot more, used it to travel 700 miles in 3 days in Wales amd it was top notch (that was without the headset) and with images alone it was very clear and easy to read, also its fast to calculate etc.

Cheers

Yep, started off with basecamp but utter rubbish like you say. Then tried converting a google maps route with a separate tool, but had trouble trying to import it into the nav. The Autoroute method sounds easier, I'll try that next time.
An easy way to programme a route into a Garmin is to use google maps for the route and then import the web page into Tyre. Plug your Garmin into the PC and your done.
