It's probably already on here somewhere but I searched and didn't find.

The Evo YouTube channel appears to be doing a small series of car vs bike videos. they've released a promo trailer here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHqgYi8Wdfs&li...

they've now just released the first full video of a Jaguar F type vs a Triumph Street Triple R around a track here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJ1pKoFNoZI

Just thought you might be interested as I'm sure the car vs bike debate could do with being repeated again, and again, and again, and again...........

I'm always a sucker for car v bike stuff...love em

you can normally tell whos going to win just by the car/bike/track choice (and weather conditions - thought it was a bit unfair when they put the ducati 1098 up against the GTR on a damp cadwell! Altthough i suppose in the real world this would happen so is still relevant)

Why pick a street its about as aerodynamic as a brick. The Daytona is the obvious choice.

£8 grand bike v £58 grand car.

Evo is a car mag, so they obviously want the car to win. Make it look close, but close enough for the car to take victory!

Yay - BORING!

MTB - Youre right about the Daytona, but they probably tried the Daytona first and realised it was too quick and beat the car so spec'd it down a tad.

EVO is an absolute strag of a magazine. It is amusing though, the lengths that car fanatics will go to in order to probe that cars are faster, if any if them bothered to have a go of a bike, they'd realise that even the fastest car won't match a bike in the fun stakes.

EVO's a great mag. People would do well not to take these kinds of things too seriously as though the fact that a car's quicker than a bike is some kind of personal sleight against them, their families and their pets.

It's meant to be a bit of fun, and an interesting insight in to where bikes and cars are quicker. And, for us, another great demonstration of what fantastic value bikes are.

I actually vaguely know Jethro, having worked with him for a few months on Drivers Republic. He's a really good bloke, a genuine petrolhead and a really f*cking good driver. I'm sure he's not taking this seriously and 'trying to go to any length to prove that cars are faster than bikes'.

And the fastest car will match a bike in the fun stakes. But, as we all know, a really fast car costs 100x a really fast bike.

One is not better than the other. They are different.

Wry smile here.

A bike needs a good rider to do a fast lap.

A car doesn't need as much skill/bravery/loonacy.

I know some very fast cars & I think some of you are in for a but of 'calibration' if you ever come up against a fast car driven well when there's no traffic. A CBR600 on the M62 Saturday morning might have wink

Agree with Yazza entirely, having won a bike championship & done a few things 4 wheeled in my time. They're both fun, just different.

This was done a couple of years ago wasn't it?
