I'm not a fan of Shakeys, but FFS, this stupid last 3 rounds system is doing him no favours at all.
If Kiyo takes the title, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Shakey says fk you, I'm not riding in your series again, unless you scrap this stupid system, and revert back to the normal points system, like all other championships do.
Easy to say that after he has crashed out in one race. These are the rules so reapplying what might have been is irrelevant since everyone else would have been running an entirely different set of tactics with no certainty that Byrne would be in the same position as he was pre-showdown.If Kiyo takes the title, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Shakey says fk you, I'm not riding in your series again, unless you scrap this stupid system, and revert back to the normal points system, like all other championships do.
Having said that, I think the podium credits should be a little more generous.
Loved the races today, especially the second superbike.
The rules are what they are if you don't like them then ply your trade elsewhere .
Great result for bridewell
Brookes race 1 , what a clusterfk. If you have to start from pitlane surely the only option is to take a punt on tyres take it steady until the track dries then attack, not bin it in the 1st lap.
I love the fact brookes never gives up but sometimes just wish he'd use his head.
That last lap/corner move from shakey , great stuff , just wish bridewell had closed in a bit more to steal 2nd place.
Let's not forget that shakey used the shoutout rules to help when he had his shoulder op, ie get fit once in the shoutout to max his chances. I agree over try year it seems unfair, brut this year it is all to play for now between kiyo and Byrne. And no one can say that. Kiyo should not be in with the real shout he now is. kiyo has been class of the field now for the last 4 or 5 rounds and has taken it to them. After a bit if bad luck here and there I genuinely think he deserves to be in the running.
Riders have to play to the rules. Including dusting it up with riders sho have nowt to lose, like josh W today. Seeing kiyo track him down, pass, get repassed, in toss conditions , both on knackered wets, was awesome. Well played both of them, would have been so easy for Josh to go in too hot, chasing a win and bin it, taking them both out! Properly exciting stuff for the last 4 or 5 laps.
And fair play to shakey coming back in race 2, his first race win in fair while.
roll on Silverstone. As was the case last year, it is all to play for and for the fans, the shoutout continues to provide an exciting end to the season. It's Byrne or Kiyo now, whoever wins it will be first ever to 4 British championships. Who'd have think it after last year and a mediocre Kiyo that it would come to this........ It's almost like someone wrote a script, but whatever, it's great stuff!
Whichever one wins it, I think they will well deserve it.

I'd love to see Kiyo win it, just for Stuart Hickens determination, and for Paul Bird to be denied the title. I like Kiyo and Shakey and thought Kiyo was finished as a front runner when Hicken took a chance on him but to deny Bird another title would be great. Shame Walker & Brookes both goofed their chance this weekend, as I would have liked to have seen either of them pushing for the title.
