Whilst I'm waiting to gain access to a ZX10 forum, anyone here know how I can ID what year of ZX10 forks and wheels I have? I understand there are some differences between 2004/05 wheels and later years... hub or spindle width etc.???

From what I can remember the 04 - 07 are the same, before they changed to underseat pipes

Then it'll be the underseat pipe years 07/08

The 09/19 models

Then we have the 2010 to the present

I may be wrong

Cheers Pal... sorry, should have been clearer... I've got ZX10R forks and wheels on my new ZX7R track bike I've recently bought, the lad I got it off hadn't had it long and didn't know the specifics of what year ZX10 forks had been used...

I'm looking to buy some spare wheels for wets and want to go down easiest route to get the correct wheels without having to swap out bearings and fashion new spacers etc.

So without knowing what bike the forks and wheels originally came off I was wondering if there's an easy way to ID.

From what I understand rear wheels are the same through the years but fronts are different...

zx10 shod zx7r you say?

04-07 wheels are all the same, the bearing sizes on some 2007 rear wheels were different, but the sprocket carriers etc are all the same.

infact, the 08/09 wheels fit in with custom front spacers too.

My wet wheels are 06/07 'wheelbarrow' zx10r items and my dry's are 2004 ICBM zx10r ones. all with 07 discs.

Cheers Pal... Helpful info, so you ready to be bombarded with set up questions... tongue out so I guess I place a gamble on the forks being '04 - '07 units, seems more logical they'll be early year forks, if not its not the end of the world...

Here's a pic of the bike in question from last week when I got it home...

Cheers Pal, appreciate it... I need to get out and have a run on it and go from there... A bargain, I thought so, I missed it on Gumtree although a mate mentioned it and it popped up a day or so later on ebay and I snapped it up within 10 mins of it being listed. Loved everyone of my ZX7's smile

Tempted by the fruit of another… the day before I was about to take it to Donington for first track day I got a call from MSG on a GSXR750 they were building with an offer I couldn’t refuse… I took the Suzuki to the track to try out and decided to stick with it. I’ve had Kawasaki’s all my life and loads of ZX7’s so I guess a change tempted me… Shame of it all is I can’t keep both… was seriously thinking about it mind! t’other shame of it is I didn’t even get to ride it!

Not sure I'm doing the right thing, but hey what the hell... I turned over a new leaf a few weeks ago and I’m culling anything that’s hanging around not fulfilling its destiny, this week I’ve sold 2 V8 engines, a 2 stroke engine push bike, a couple of laptops and an electric skate board… Café Racer anyone?
