They are motorcycle owning car drivers aka power rangers or FWBs.
They are looked down upon by proper motorcyclists.

Then I discovered I could get discount fare on the trains, so I took the trian a few times through winter to uni (cost me as much in fuel). It was brilliant! Ok, a bit of bustle and hustle, but I was warm and dry AND i could read a book!
Then when I got my first job out of uni, I bought a car. Even better! My own private space, with radio, warmth (or cooling!), food, soft drinks..heaven!
Now I am a FWB. But that dosnt restrict me to summer, I dont mind going out on winters days. But I object to riding in the pissing rain, unless I get caught out by a shower that I cant avoid.
I was an AWB for 10 yrs.
It's miserable. I got the odd moment of thinking it was the wise option - heated grips and warm clothing made it feel almost sensible. Then there was the remaining 90% of the time when it was raining, the tips of my fingers were frozen despite heated grips, my visor was scratched from wiping salty water off it with my gloves, fogged up despite pinlock.
The spring clean, taking all the greasy muck off (leave it on because it protects it) would be a depressing task. Inevitably something would have rusted or gone dull.
Got fed up with it.
Then i added up how much it REALLY cost to use a bike all year round and i was shocked to find that my 160 mile round trip cost £5 just in tyre rubber!
Decided to use the bikes only when it's going to be enjoyable.
Downside is i spent 4.5 hrs driving yesterday...
