POLITE - Hi-Vis Vest
Discussion
Just saw a someone parked on her bike the side of the road in a Kentish location wearing a faux police hi-vis vest saying 'POLITE'.
I won't even get started on the type of person that would wear anything like this, but I definitely would like to meet the tt that originally came up with the idea of making them.
Took every ounce of my being not to shout every insult I could at them as I rode past.

Been discussed numerous times. It normally goes like this;
You will be decidedly agreed with.
Then someone will mention horse riders.
Then the conversation will degrade into berating horse riders for their perceived lack of consideration.
People will discuss how they then show horse riders no consideration and brag about it.
The irony will be lost.
Someone will mention "they don't pay road tax"
Someone else will point out that isn't what road tax is actually for (usually me) and they do actually pay to use the roads.
Someone will join the conversation late and mention the police having not disapproved of these vest.
I die a little inside.

I congratulate you on your self-restraint in the face of clear provocation. You're a super human being in every sense and have an awesome sense of proportion. Please start a blog or a video diary as the world needs to hear what you have to say and be set right.I think what's more tragic in all this is that most road users have so little consideration for others it's necessary for those who see themselves as more vulnerable to pretend to be from the police (from a distance), so the other road users will actually be careful around them...
How rarely do you even see someone moving over slightly when passing a pedestrian on a narrow footpath?

Agreed treat others as you would expect to be treated yourself. How rarely do you even see someone moving over slightly when passing a pedestrian on a narrow footpath?
However it all goes out the window when you see cyclists, 3 a breast with a huge tailback.
Police have said it’s not illegal so, in simple terms, who cares? They could be ‘trying to impersonate’ Rossi, Ewan & Charlie, Hells Angels or a ‘Police’ officer, but so what? If that’s what it takes to brighten up their lives or make them feel safer then what’s the problem?
Who is the sadder? Those that feel the need to impersonate or those who feel the need to judge those they think are doing the impersonating?
