The 'thirsty' light comes on at about 130, then I fill it as quick as I can. Getting 51mpg on 16mile each way urban commute. Monster 796.

We picked up a CCM 640 super moto at the weekend - complete with extra low gearing... the run back down the M54(?)/M6/M5 was a bit fraught as my mate wasn't sure about the fuel lasting between services... laugh

Don't know, don't care. I didn't buy a bike for fuel economy.

Same with the car
Same here
Cant be arsed to even try and work it out
I don't work it out but I to reset the trip every fill (car or Bike). So as a result I've had under 80 miles out of my tank before the fuel light comes on and when on track (But I was using Shell Super). and Over 150 miles before the fuel light when touring in 6th (Regular Unleaded)
Both times I used about 15 of the 17ltrs of fuel in my tank. And this will be using my Fireblade

You must ride like a girl! wink (Sorry to the girls who frequent this forum for the sexist remark.) If you use every last drop of your 29ltr tank then 320 miles is still just over 50mpg. For a bike weighing 330kg without the rider and with the aerodynamics of a brick, you must be riding very gently!

Don't forget you must wear this as well when riding gently

Kawasaki ZXR400 - I fill up every 100 miles, 110 it dies and runs like a bag of crap on reserve.

BMW 650 Stada - switch to reserve at 160, I think 190 would be do-able sat on motorway.

I have no fuel light so I know all these from running out....

916 - low fuel light on around 110-120, will (and has) run out between 140-150
M900 - low fuel light on around 110-120, will run out between 120-140
Both hold the same amount of fuel.

hehe

I was thinking the same, I managed 190 to the light on my ST1100 once. Normally did about 250-280.

Gen 1 VTR, with a 16 litre tank.
Petrol light generally comes on around the 70-80 mile mark, but i've pushed it to 90 miles once.
When filling up, i usually have about 1.5 to 2 litres left in the tank.
20 mile round trip per day in London.

I have a Gen2 RSVR too, and it's about the same, well maybe slightly better.

That must be quite tedious!

Then again, my 160 mile round trip means filling up every day frown

Fill up once a week, it's not too bad.
Although sometimes if i fill up on the Monday, then it will need another fill up by Friday.
The Gen2 VTR are supposed to have a bigger tank (19l instead of 16l), which could help, but V-twins are not known for their economy.

I think fuel economy and tank range are two different things. I like to know what my tank range is so that I have an idea if I need to fill up on the way out, the way home or not at all when going for a ride. Likewise, I like to know that I'm now 10 miles beyond the distance when the low fuel light normally comes on so there is a risk that the bulb has gone and if I don't fill up soon, I could be walking.

117 miles on my MSX125. Works out at roughly 106mpg. This has been consistent across the last 2.5k.

Honda Blackbird.
Light comes on at around 160 miles. Easily get 210 miles, but never gone beyond that.
I know this because my commute is 70 miles a day - so I have to fill up every three days.

Nothing. I get 340 miles, also with about 2 litres left in the tank.

OK, so I have one more litre than yours. 1200 GSA LC, 30 litre tank.
I spent last week on my DOHC GSA going from the south coast to the Western Isles* and back, and was refuelling every 350miles with about 1.5l left in the tank each time.
