How many miles can you do before fill-up?

You must ride like a girl! (Sorry to the girls who frequent this forum for the sexist remark.) If you use every last drop of your 29ltr tank then 320 miles is still just over 50mpg. For a bike weighing 330kg without the rider and with the aerodynamics of a brick, you must be riding very gently!
Yeah, that must be it.RemaL said:
Don't forget you must wear this as well when riding gently
I've just had a memo at work saying that I have to have a No Smoking notice in my van, despite the fact that nobody in the company smokes and I'm not allowed to carry passengers who aren't staff, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was mandatory to wear one of those soon. I'll get my order in now to avoid disappointment.spoodler said:
We picked up a CCM 640 super moto at the weekend - complete with extra low gearing... the run back down the M54(?)/M6/M5 was a bit fraught as my mate wasn't sure about the fuel lasting between services...
My old CRF450R supermoto came to me on gearing that gave me a top speed of 50mph and it wheelied everywhere off the throttle. It also did 9mpg (that's NINE) I found this out when I went to show it to a mate who lives about 15 minutes away and it ran out of fuel halfway back My BMW R1100 GS has 41 lt tank. Done full to empty in 362 miles. Could squeeze over 400 if I didn't ride like a tt. My R100GS has 43 lt tank but never run that one dry. I love large tanks as it enables you to cross entire countries non-stop. Have managed 800 mile days with only a couple of brief stops for fuel, food and drink.

... but I bet you get more drive shaft seals to the mile than I do
I've had 3 GS Adventures since 2009, and no shaft seals were harmed in the riding of these bikes. Maybe I'm just lucky. Now that I've said that, I'm probably cursed. I'll get home in a couple of weeks and find the bike sitting in a puddle of shaft oil............................

Honda Blackbird.
Light comes on at around 160 miles. Easily get 210 miles, but never gone beyond that.
I know this because my commute is 70 miles a day - so I have to fill up every three days.
My Blackbird's light would come on at 160-165. One day I rode it till the light came on, strapped a petrol can to the pillion and hit the A419 to see how far it would get before running dry. Got to 230, and that was sat at about 80 mph.Light comes on at around 160 miles. Easily get 210 miles, but never gone beyond that.

Did a motorway run from Harwich late one night and the light didn't come on until 185 miles so may have been able to hit 250 before it died.
23L tank.
