Not really.

200hp & 155kg is enough for me.

Fair play for having a crack at making something bonkers though - might help throw a bit of a halo across the next ZX10r etc.
What do you have with 200bhp and 155kg????
I was going to ask the same thing. The new BMW 1000rr has "only" 199 BHP and is no ware close to 155kg even without fuel and liquids

Custard test anyone
Superleggera - admittedly you can add fuel to that 155kg and 200 horses is probably closer to 180/5 rwhp.

Still, the minimum weight limit for moto gp is 160kg, so its going some to be that light, fuel or no fuel. Have you ever weighed it to see how honest they were????

I am probably showing my ignorance here, but wouldn't a 300bhp bike be totally unable to put its power down at anything below 100mph? If so, it wouldn't actually be giving you 300bhp even in the lowest gears, so the number would be meaningless.

Anything but boring. Real world exciting, not track flat out.
sleep Vehicles with very linear, constant acceleration do tend to be boring, even if they are ultimately very quick in practice. There's a good reason that two strokes with tiny powerbands were such fun to ride.

I never thought 2 strokes were fun. They were just noisy and smelly! The only "fun" use of a 2 stroke is on my chain saw! biggrin

On the road, being able to overtake without having to drop 3 gears, still being able to power off the apex even though you're not in the optimal gear and being able to ride relaxed while still making progress are what fun is for me. Power is for the track but torque is for the road. wink

25 years ago my father said that my 125bho exup had to much power to use on the road.

Here we are saying that a 200 bhp bike is ok for the road while a 300 bhp one isn't.

Riding a 190 bhp bike on track is scary at times never mind a 200/300 bhp one.

On the road I suspect they will be good for pulling wheelies from London to Acorland

I don't see the point really. Where exactly are you going to be able to use the power??

Not that you will see too many on the road anyway

In line with BN's comment, I remember the fuss made when they brought out the LC250/350.

The "fuss", the tiny amount it was, concerned both the Suzuki X7, and the Yamaha RD 250 LC, and possibly contributed towards the 125 restrictions we have now, as these were learner sized machines at that time.

I don't remember any fuss regarding larger machines, as they aren't that big or quick, and you needed a full licence to ride them.

Had a few big horsepower turboed bikes, pretty pointless on the road in all honesty

Good on the drag strip but that new supercharged kwack is too short a wheel base to really get the power down even on the strip

Probably going to be like this turbo'ed gsxr600, have to appreciate how bonkers it is though

I agree, never got the appeal of them myself either.
