They are launching it officially today. So far there has been a teaser campaign here: http://scramblerducati.com/

Anyone else intrigued by this bike?

I am a Ducati owner and big fan of the brand. I've also wanted a Triumph Scrambler for quite a while, so this could be the perfect bike for me. Can't wait to see the reviews and try one out.

if thats a scrambler then I am the Pope.

What that is my friend, is a cunning marketing ploy to pass off a pastiche of a scrambler for those who like the idea of owning a posh scrambler but dont have the balls to buy a vintage bike.

I don't expect to see one in any other place other than urban / sub-urban areas of major cities. Mainly ridden by middle aged blokes who are having a mid-life crisis.

Steve Mcqueen you will not instantly become by riding one of these - you will still be the middle aged slightly balding accountant with an expanding waist line living in Hitchin.

Looking forward to seeing it later today.

As a BMW R100 owner, I've been dreaming of owning something that's characterful and fun to ride while not suffering the niggles of 1970/80's bikes. Not that I'd want to sell the vintage BM, just add something else to the fleet smile

Triumph scrambler/bonny sales will undoubtably suffer as a result of this bike.

I like. Prefer this to a monster.

Nice looking bike, but not exactly a scrambler.

I like that coolyum

Looks like there's a few different versions - the "icon" (the yellow one shown), "urban enduro", "full throttle" (Termi's biggrin) and the "classic" or at least some customisable options, spoked wheels, different front and rear mudguards, high or low bars etc.

Me too. It looks like a bit like flat tracker and having just bought some copies of Sideburn I'm all for that.

I hope I'm not getting caught up in the lifestyleness of the Ducati Scrambler video though...

I like it till I saw where the rear spring is. FFS, it's stuck out the side like some sort of after thought. If you want to make a retro scrambler how hard is it to fit a proper twin shock rear end? They'd have to break the habit of not supplying a complete bike by fitting both sides of the swingarm though hehe

Rather have a 1957 TR6, but this Duc looks like a nice modern take on that theme.

This surprised me but I think that's a great idea. Scramblers are highly customisable and they are giving us these options without any of the hard work. A really clever bit of marketing.

It's got both sides - but the still fitted the shock off centre? Looks odd but I like it.

Is it just me that's totally underwhelmed by this? Don't know what it is, just not a fan. Prefer the triumph scrambler by far.

Agreed...

Given my taste in bikes, I should love this but I'm also underwhelmed. It just seems like a Monster with a retro tank.

I think they got bitten hard by the Sport Classics so played it safe. Ho hum.

The sport classic was ahead of it's time - if they released it now it'd sell loads. Just a shame they stopped production - although the current owners are on to a good thing, they're worth more than they were new, 10k for a decent one.

Any word on the UK price of the scrambler? If it's around £6k it'll sell well I think.

Sure I read that its starting at £6995 for the cheapest Icon variant, but can't find that now...

On the plus side it looks like it be 50kg lighter than the Triumph Scrambler.
