Does it flap around at speed?
No, it doesn't flap. The bottom part near your feet has a straight metal bar that you physically bend to create a curve and shape it as desired. There are also inflatable tubes running vertical down each side which help preserve its shape. There is a strap on each side that can be wrapped around your thigh to ensure that nothing flaps, but I've never had to use it. This strap fastens with a press stud so in the event of a spill you come clean away from the bike. Same for the neck strap on the front bib, it fastens with velcro. The bib can be folded forward out of the way or pressed up against your torso either with or without the neck strap.

Kind of tempted, I ride an F800GSA so they do make one, was concerned about getting feet tangled when need to put one down, have you ever found this? I know it won't win any fashion prizes, but does seem quite practical.

Could you get away with wearing leather trousers under it and still stay dry in a downpour?

I reckon you would stay dry. No danger of feet getting tangled up, theres really nothing to catch them on, feet just slide out.

M8 Glasgow to Edinburgh eastbound was chaos due to untreated roads yesterday morning.

I counted 4 motorbikes that filtered past me.

Rather them than I, they must have some size of balls.

I biked down up to my parents Tuesday evening.
I arrived to "you must be frozen"
Nope, i genuinely wasnt, not even slightly.
A decent full fairing, screen and good set of textiles go a long way.
I dont even have the winter linings in the textiles yet.

But then, compared to my daily 1980s lotus car where even the manufacturer labeled the heater cold to warm; anything can be considered pleasantly hot. laugh

No wimping out today for me just a bit a rain this morning no issue wink Minimal traffic and two wheeled idiots (cold and esp wet keeps these away from commuting)
Though I do prefer cold and dry in preference to comparitive warmer and wet. The wet brings out more numpty driving in London.

I'm still seeing a few of the regular guys that I pass every day on the way to work and have done over the summer - a CBF600 which I've seen pretty much every day since April, no matter the weather, and always within a mile or 2 of the same place! then there's an ex-police bike trainer guy on a green ZZR1400 (stopped and chatted to him at the lights once just after I'd passed my test as he noticed I'd removed the L plates, got a decent compliment on my riding), and I've seen guy on a 400 scooter filter behind me for the last week or 2 too, never seen him before that. I reckon I see probably at least 4 bikers on my way to/from work at least 3-4 days a week, that's on a 20 mile commute and it's only dropped by 3/4.

Finally put the bike away last night. I mentioned to Mitzy that the standard of driving over the last week had really deteriorated and I had been taking it quite steady. It seems to me that drivers heads are busier with Christmas than concentrating on the roads themselves.

The ride in yesterday morning was odd, roads weren't busy but I had a gut feel that something wasn't right. On the way home I continued riding cautiously as the roads were a little damp and filtering very slowly pass stationary traffic, some div decided that they would pull out to cross the line and turn right into a street about 100 metres further up the road. At the point he decided to do this I was level with his door. I managed to swerve to the right but not enough to completely miss his mirror. I stayed upright and ended up with a sore arm. No big deal, but enough of one for me to park the bike up while arse-head drivers are being so erratic

Didn't fancy it this morning lying in bed at 6am listening to the rain and howling wind. But, got on with it and it was actually quite warm (had to turn my grips down) and the old bus does a good job of protecting me from the weather, so was no dramas in the end.

One more day to go for me, getting a lift there and train home so fortunately I won't have to mix with the 'morning after' crowd

yes

Yesterday did appear to be national drive like a retard day here too. On the trip home I got cut up twice by spunkmonkeys who never even attempted to look & stuck behind every car as they'd all decided to do half the normal speed on every bit of road I use - 35mph on a straight clear 60mph ffs! followed by 15-20mph in every 30. Feck knows why it was warm & nearly dry.

This behavior must have been happening everywhere yesterday, I was on the way to work and travelling at 30MPH, on a fairly busy road and some woman who was fully parked on the path decided she was off and dismounted the curb. Meaning I had to take action and swerve on to opposite side of the road.

Fun Times !!!!!!!!!!

I was down south last week, went over that bridge at dartford etc, things I noticed were that there are a load of cocks driving white Audis or bmws.

The other thing I noticed was just how bloody warm it was, 12 degrees, back up north it was minus 2 when I left with snow and black ice

No wonder you southern puffs ride all year

The weather has been very kind to us southern bikers - handy when it's your only viable commuting option. Actually got too hot on the ride in this morning and I wasn't particularly dressed up, no buff, no thermals or anything!
